His openness about his depression was so meaningful - music is the form of art I feel and lean into more than any other. The lyrics "there's a liar in my head, a thief upon my bed" -both being him-gave difficult to describe feelings authentic clarity. Sigh.

Is there any footage anywhere showing him playing any instrument? I’ve always been amazed at his input in the studio, when he could have had access to the greatest session musicians in the world on speed dial, and chose to do so much himself

and that’s the funniest shit about this debate…michael basically produced and wrote most of the bad album by himself.. and for thriller he ALSO produced and wrote literally most of the hits of the albums by himself. billie jean was almost not on the album for thriller bc of Quincy… smooth criminal was also almost scrapped .. bc of quincy. those being michaels biggest hits til this day that michael WROTE AND PRODUCED HIMSELF. he hated that michael was evolving and was capable of doing his artistry and crafting all by himself. quincy isn’t the reason his music is timeless, michael is the reason.
