Her popularity in the country music world soared in the 1960s and 1970s, and in 1973 she released one of her biggest hits, “Jolene.”Parton also found success on the big screen. One of her best-known roles was in the comedy “9 to 5.” She wrote and performed the film’s title song herself, earning an Academy Award nomination for it. Parton won numerous Academy of Country Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 1977. Her 1983 collaboration with Kenny Rogers, “Islands in the Stream,” won Single Record of the Year, while the duo also received an American Music Award. In November 2022, Dolly Parton was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, alongside Duran Duran and Lionel Richie. Despite that, Hrishikesh Mukherjee swore it wasn’t about Amitabh and Jaya, though rumors were rife that it was. Jaya, like her character in the movie, was the bigger star, which made it eerily real. The score earned S.D. Burman the 1973 Filmfare Award for Best Music Director. It was among his final films. Burman didn’t compose its most famous melody from scratch, he adapted it from Rabindra Sangeet. The film ran for 590 days at the Empire cinema in Colombo.✨ #JustAchaanak

My character was “Store Owner.” But as he directed me he kept calling me by my actual name. No director had ever done that for me before or since unless my character had a name for a bigger role. There’s no reason to know my name. He did the same for the actor playing opposite me. After work, that actor and I shared notes and we were glowing with how generous, humble and down to earth he was as a director." 🔗

BREAKING: Country music star Morgan Wallen sold out two crowds at Petco Park in San Diego. For reference, Petco park has a seat capacity of roughly 45,000 people. Wallen packed the stadium twice. Back in 2021 Wallen was cancelled after he drunkenly said the ‘n’ word. Local radio stations across the country, including 103.7 KSON (103.7 KSON) took part in ‘canceling’ him. Ironically, the same news station in San Diego changed their radio station name this weekend to ‘Morgan 103.7.’ From getting cancelled to getting the same people who cancelled you to change their name to yours.
