Meanwhile, at the bottom of the river:

It's funny, lots of people, even many Americans I think, don't realize that the design of the standard-issue grenade in WW2 was at least somewhat based off the general weight and form factor of a baseball on purpose. Idea was most American boys knew how to throw a baseball.

Bc we played real sports with hand eye coordination, not glorified jogging with flopping

Not me personally, but a guy I know used to be able to hit road signs on the right side of the road with beer bottles left handed out the driver's side window when he was a teenager. Not me though. I'm law and order every time.

The American pastime.

the person who threw the beer should have catched it so its a fail 😝

A German would never spill beer like that 😂

yeah it's not like we spend our formative years throwing baseballs and basketballs and footballs and wing shooting. So much for Soccer's vaunted 'no hands' rules. American men are ALL grenadiers.

And if it doesn't...

Fun fact: in France, the "knock down bottles game" balls are not weighted off-center, and smallish American boys can win. Most of Europe does not play throwing games very much.

Reminds me of the story in one of the Steven Ambrose D-Day books where some GI hit a German soldier square in the head with a grenade from 30+ yards. Turns out the GI was the starting catcher for UCLA's baseball team before the war

That's the best beer pass I've ever seen. Git 'er done.🇺🇸

When German soldiers drank Budweiser in the concentration camps😂

Is that Uncle Rico?

I qualified as an Expert Grenadier in the US Army. Throwing Brewskies to friends really paid off.

Every time I go to the South, I understand how they lost the Civil War. At the same time, I understand why it was so hard to beat them.

This is required training for every American

Practice my young padawan. Practice!

because baseball is America's pastime, duh

Well... We play sports that use our hands... May I suggest that you try kicking the grenade.

my man has a crazy strong arm!

Well there was good reason they designed grenades to be about the diameter of a baseball.

@cdrsalamander There’s a story that during the First World War, the French training American troops on how to throw hand grenades in their stiff-armed manner. Discovered the baseball playing Amis were able to throw much further than their teachers and soon themselves became the teachers.

Because for Americans, tossing grenades is just Tuesday backyard cornhole with extra bang.

Very impressive, especially the one-handed catch. I was going to add a diss about American beer, but realised I am currently drinking some.

We should have been throwing nades with the Germans tbh ⚡️14

@X1912PatriotX Maybe they should play baseball instead of soccer. They can always try to kick the grenades to the location though .

Maybe not today maybe not tomorrow 😹but one day that thing will land on your head

You're not wrong. The grenades used in the US Army is literally designed to be the size of a baseball.

Our demographic is hated bc we fought them though.

I read where they were shaped more like balls because the army knew every kid had thrown baseballs growing up.
