I've owned and trained dogs including protection dogs for over 35 years, I can tell you that the number one reason for destructive behavior and barking is lack of mental and physical stimulation. If you cannot commit to walking your dog at least twice a day (all weathers) and doing some obedience training, and otherwise being there for them, don't get one. You have to be a persistent trainer, and everyone in the family has to be onboard, consistency and persistence are everything.
