Early this morning, CAL FIRE sent 15 fire engines, one Agency Representative, and one mechanic, totaling 53 personnel to Colorado to help support firefighting efforts on the Aspen Acres Fire burning in Custer and Pueblo Counties. These firefighters are expected to assist in Colorado for up to 14 days. Keir Starmer Boasts About Giving Away 10 Million Free Breakfasts “We’ve just hit another really important milestone. 10 million free breakfasts at our free breakfast clubs. And that’s bringing families and children together across the country.” They’re not free though, are they? They’re paid for by hard-working taxpayers. While families struggle with high taxes, energy bills, and the cost of living, Keir Starmer is celebrating 10 million free school breakfasts, that’s likely £20–30 million and rising, taken straight from our pockets. Why exactly should people grinding away at work every day be forced to subsidise breakfast for kids who aren’t theirs? Parents have a responsibility to feed their own children. This isn’t “investing in the next generation” it’s expanding the welfare state and normalising the idea that the government (i.e. you and me) should pick up the tab for basic parenting. Let me ask you an honest question: Who’s your daddy? If you’re a high school student athlete in Illinois, the answer is easy when it comes to one’s “Right to Play.” It’s not your Mom or Dad. It’s a private third-party vendor called the Illinois High School Association (IHSA). If you play a high school sport, the IHSA controls you even when your school day is over and even more when school isn’t even in session. It’s long been an overreach of control from a small group of narrow-minded ego-driven adults literally dictating what student athletes and families can do in their free time. But much-needed and welcome change is getting closer for all student athletes and their families, as more and more student athletes and parents come forward from present and past to speak up and talk about the disadvantages the IHSA - and those who benefit from it - have and are causing. The first victory earlier this week was by slaughter rule, a 12-0 thumping over the IHSA in committee vote. Now it moves to the big leagues. You can read more here: I encourage you to engage and educate yourself in a topic that 75 percent of high school student athletes across the U.S. can do, but it’s something high school student athletes in Illinois can’t do. Over the next 30 days, you are going to see more stories and hear directly from student athletes, families, leading athletic trainers and doctors, school leaders from Illinois and other states on local and national media outlets talking about this overreach and how the IHSA continues to put student athletes at a disadvantage. So I ask you again: Since when does a private third-party vendor get to control what student athletes and their families do, especially during their free time? Think about that. I have seen and truly appreciate the messages and concerns regarding our Annual Christmas Day Gala. After engaging and consulting with our stakeholders, we have this year taken a conscious decision to redirect our funds and resources towards repairing school roofs that were damaged by winds. As things stand, more than six schools were affected and work is already underway. We are working against time to ensure that by the time schools open, our children return to safe and decent learning spaces. While the Christmas Day Gala is close to our hearts, we believe that responding to this urgent need is the right thing to do at this moment. To our artists, this annual event has always been a smile bearer and a platform for your incredible work. We want to assure you that once this urgent need has been fully attended to, we will revert and deliver another great event even bigger and better. We thank you for your understanding, your continued support and your shared commitment to the wellbeing of our children. We wish you and your families a happy and peaceful holiday season.

As president he will leave aso rock and start visiting schools in gwagwalada, Karu up to Suleja and kosu Bosu in Kwara state. How did this man end up as a presidential candidate? His idea of governance is ridiculous.
