Basically this means various suppliers so prices will go down because Eskom will not be the only one supplying electricity. The promise President Ramaphosa made has come to fruition. The Independent Power Producers (IPP’s) will be able to sell electricity they produce directly to consumers. Ramokgopa said that South Africans can expect electricity prices to drop. But MOST DEFINITELY NOT JHB, they will pay the higher tariffs, and the higher increases that will come along because COJ is amongst the top defaulting municipalities, accounting for 58% of total arrears. What this means, you an innocent hard working person works to put food on the table and to pay you debts, you diligently pay your electricity bill, but because of the SIU acclimated corrupt COJ leaders, like Botes allegedly working with the mayor and staff etc LOOT THISvMONEY. INSTEAD OF PAYING ESKOM. While people around the country will get some relief not for you joburg residents, Helen Botes who has SIU criminal allegations against her has been promoted to acting COO to maybe steal more. Many of you are against the DA for taking Botes to court for corruption now enjoy the increase and the increase and the increase at astronomical rates while many around the country will be paying far lower due to the huge competition. ELECTRICITY has been decentralised and removed from exclusive list. This means your governor can now partner with private sector to give you Electricity instead of lazily waiting for the FG. The job of every serious state government now is to remove its state from national grid, provide Electricity for the state and also the citizens must be ready to pay because power isn't cheap! I commend the Lagos State Government for doing something remarkable on this, however, do more!!! What is your own governor doing?
