Kobe Bryant cold-called Jony Ive, Oprah, and Nike's CEO to learn how they think: "I just cold-call people. Absolutely. I just cold-call people and pick their brain about stuff. Some of the questions I'll ask will seem really, really simple and stupid, quite honestly, for them. But if I don't know, I don't know. I have to ask. I want to learn more about how they build their business, how they run their companies, how they see the world." On who he calls: "We could start in the Nike family. I cold-call Mark Parker all the time. Johnny Ive. Dan Wieden. Oprah Winfrey. Arianna Huffington. Hillary Swank. It just goes on and on and on." Kobe explains why he called Jony Ive: "He's obviously unique in what he does. I want to know how does he view product? How does he view the process of designing product? Then he made the mistake of explaining to director James Cameron exactly how OJ had to play the part. Points aren’t the separator… Players are so consumed with how many points they average, and OBVIOUSLY points set the level… you need to be able to score it. But when you dive in to separating players that score the ball at the same rate… it’s about HOW they go about it. How are they impacting the game beyond the scoring? How are they getting their shots, and how many shots are they taking? If players focus on the how, their game becomes more well rounded and efficient 👍👍

Denzel Washington’s epic monologue towards the end of Training Day was largely improvised on set. Director Antoine Fuqua was so blown away by his performance, he says he thinks he "forgot to yell cut”. He explains… “That’s Denzel. He was just in his zone.
