Couldn’t lift 185 and still became one of the greatest scorers

I dunno man. We had some dude who "could bench 300 pounds" but he was 5'6" and his arms were short. Its hard to bench-press a lot of weight when you have arms twice as long.

He's 7 foot tall and shoots 40% from 3. Strength matters, just not for him. But his lack of strength is also why he's not a top defender

The selection process today seems very different from before; they might skip the weightlifting step, it's not mandatory.

KD’s point about leverage is important. Strength in basketball isn’t just how much you can lift in the weight room. Balance, positioning, coordination, and knowing how to use your frame can matter much more when you’re actually playing.

Kids please dont listen to this garbage. KD is one of one. Get your butt in the weightroom. Don't take this as inspiration. You will never be KD

Yeah but he’s also 6’11” grabbing only 6 rebounds a game. If he were just a little stronger he’d easily be double-double every night.

KD went #2 overall anyway. One combine number didn't rewrite scouting. What prospect actually dropped because of bench press?

Tbf KDs only real weakness was that the NBA refused to call off ball fouls and he wasn't strong enough to fight off the bear hug defense of guys like Shane Battier who weren't even trying to actually play basketball.

All of that said, you’re a lot better off *with* lower body strength than without it, and *with* strong hands than without them.

Of course KD will say otherwise. No one is going to admit that they couldn’t bench ONE THIRTY FIVE. One bar , two 45lb plates. SMH

They gotta stop using KD as an example like he’s not an anomaly. Some guys need to bulk up like Wemby, or Chet. Both 7 footers who we’ve seen get pushed around by guys half their size. Be like Giannis, big asf just moving guys out the way

Scarface is widely regarded as a classic today, but when it first came out, the reception was brutal. Steven Bauer, who played Manny, says it was so painful that for years he and Al Pacino barely even spoke about the film. He explains… “Scarface is great to be a part of now. For years, it was dismal - like everybody associated with Scarface was a leper - people got very wimpy about Scarface really quickly. As soon as the reviews were out… Our peers came to see the movie in the premiere, right? There were two premieres, one in New York, one in LA, and people came to see it and they were like, ‘Wow, what a movie…. The next day, the reviews are out, and all the papers — this is before the internet, okay? - so you get just the conventional news media outlets - and 90% of them gave Scarface a horrible review. Like horrible, really, really insulting, injurious stuff. Personal attacks on Pacino and Brian De Palma, the director, and on Oliver, the writer... It was really, really mean because the country was going through a politically correct sort of thing - they were like, "This is like a new wave of violence in the movies, oh!" It’s nice because when I see Al - we can finally talk about it, because...for years, we couldn’t even talk about it. We’d be like, “Oh yeah, Scarface, yeah, yeah...” It was so sad! Because the movie was so great! And then it was like this thud, and it lasted like 10 years… Anywhere I’d go, it was like, ‘You’re that guy who was really good in that really terrible movie.’ And I’d be like, ‘How could you say that?’ And they’d go, ‘Well, you were good.’ And I’m like, ‘Okay, but I don’t care. What about the movie?’ And they go, ‘Oh, come on, you gotta admit it. It was like way over the top. It was like so exaggerating,’ blah, blah, blah, blah.…and I’d be like, ‘You’re a pussy!”

Former NBA star Gilbert Arenas reveals he swapped his ex's $400,000 engagement ring with a fake Arenas: “I paid $395,000 or $495,000. It was up there. It was a big stone in the middle and then had three stones on a side” Vlad: “So you ended up getting a fake version of that. How much did that cost you?” Arenas: “$10,000. So what happened was, when the proposal happened, it was around her birthday and we got in a fight eight days later and broke up. When we broke up, I'm like, ‘That was a fucking waste of money. I want my ring back’” “I was like, ‘How do I get my ring back?’ Fuck it. I just gotta get her back. But when she comes back, imma have a fake one and I can switch it at any time” “It was four months and then started playing house again. I always knew I could switch it at any time. Years later, I eventually switched it, put that one in the safety deposit, and then she just had the fake one” Vlad: “When did she find out that the ring was fake?” Arenas: “I think once we broke up and it was all said and done. She started really going at me in the media. I guess one of her friends, one of the married women, was basically telling her that you need full custody, he needs to be a danger, so you can put a restraining order on him. That whole little Hollywood bullshit” “Once that started happening, me being the troll that I am, I took a picture, put the ring on it, and bop, posted it online. She probably went to go check it out and realized she had the fake one. From there a filing came in that I robbed her. Then she filed a lawsuit to get the ring back” Vlad: “Did she win the ring lawsuit?” Arenas: “No. Hell no”

Davante Adams says he plugged his ears so the Packers couldn’t talk him into staying, then signed a $141,000,000 deal with the Raiders making him the highest-paid WR in the NFL at the time Shannon: “You was out of there. You felt they slapped you in your face by not giving you what you had earned up until that point, made you play, put you and your family at risk, and then once you come out on the other side, they say, “Dawg, we knew you could do it, here you go, bro” Adams: “And then, but the biggest thing was that I didn’t hear anything after that. So I basically was already la-la-la-la-la, you know, once the season ended. But there was no follow-up, there wasn’t a lot of talks going on. I didn’t know, there was nothing for almost two months” “And I’m thinking, okay, well, I must just be a regular dude to them, so I’m about to go. And then they think that, you know, tagging me was the next op, after basically playing for Lloyd’s on the tag the year before that. So I’m like, this is obviously not it” “And they was, I don’t know if they was calling my bluff, or just, you know, whatever the idea was, but it just wasn’t working for me. So I just had to plug my ears before I heard a number that made my ass want to stay” Shannon: “And ‘cause you’d heard that number first, like, ‘Okay, I forgive y’all’, hold on, you said what?” Adams: “I just said, ‘Look, we’re going to nip this in the bud, this is what I think is best.’ You know, it end up working out for the Packers, they got a couple good players out of it as well. It is what it is”
