bare clone + worktree per agent task is the move. ran 4 parallel agents on AudioWave refactor with this setup — zero merge conflicts because each agent got its own branch and directory, never touched main. the collision isn't the parallel execution, it's the shared state.

You would want an agent ide natively built around git worktree like this one:

Big ideas are exciting. But teams still win on timing, process and execution. #timefolio

Worktrees can be useful but a proper orchestration system can avoid them for most operation, and they should be avoided, especially on giant repos.

I fail to see how git worktrees are faster than just having parallel git clones. When I find a bug I just generate a prompt and push it to a different then fix and then rebase. Are people not doing this?

every time i do a git worktree it’s a mess. i just have multiple PR plans ready to execute. when one finishes and push’s i start another and reference it to check for blast radius after its merged to main
