There's a gesture here in a mundane task that adds a bit of extra warmth beyond just doing one's job, and the fact that people are so butthurt someone isn't living just as sad of a miserable life as they are really says a lot about where society is and where it's going. The world needs more happy frogs wishing people a nice flight in it. If you don't like it, get back to optimising your happiness away and kindly fuck off. Also, this is in Japan of all places, a country with one of the most intense dedications to customer service and work culture. This person is providing a service above and beyond the bare minimum, which is far easier to do and not risk being judged for, and all people can find time to do is bitch about it while ironically wasting their own unproductive time on the internet.
