Gladiator 2 is a film that didn’t work for multiple reasons- one being scenes such as this. The unnecessary use of CGI totally took me out of the film. Gladiator released 24 years before its sequel but somehow looks much better. The filmmaking in Gladiator 2 really disappointed.

Decades later sequels plays right into the hands of simple minds. They fall for it every time. See: Indiana Jones

agreed, Gladiator is a film I watch at least once a year. The sequel felt like a microwaved tv diner. Instead of showing us something new, Ridley and co. preferred to revisit the same plot line through different characters and events.

Also it just didn't need a sequel. Any movie that waits 25 years to make a sequel is an obvious cash grab and it deserved to flop
