this man also worked with bts (translation isnโ€™t mine): โ€œSo, how did I end up filming a commercial? It was with BTS and Oreo. Each member arrived in a Bentley. With a driver, of course. Tons of security, a studio - everything. Staff covered up everyoneโ€™s phones and made us sign contracts saying we couldnโ€™t film, make a sound, breathe, anything. We walked onto the set, each of us was handed an Oreo cookie, and then BTS came out and stood next to us. We filmed the first shot together, and the camera pulled back from the one of them, so I ended up standing right beside them. Then we did the dance scenes, wrapped up, and I thought, I definitely got the most out of this shoot. I wonโ€™t talk about the pay - it doesnโ€™t matter whether it was a lot or a little. The important part is that I met every member of BTS, shook hands with each of them, and chatted a bit. They asked me, โ€˜So, where are you from?โ€™ I said, โ€˜Russia. You?โ€ They laughed and asked, โ€˜Do you know Korean?โ€™ I said, โ€˜No.โ€™ They were like, โ€˜Why not? You live in Korea but donโ€™t know Korean?โ€™ So I replied, โ€˜Well, why is it that only one of you speaks English?โ€™ We joked around, laughed for a bit, and they were like, โ€˜Alright, alright, fair enough.โ€™ I said, โ€˜Guys, it was great meeting you. Thanks for this opportunity and for your time.โ€™ I gave everyone a hug and even got to shake hands with your idols.โ€

FREEBIE Behind the Scenes post! I reference Minecraft a lot on the comics because it's more well known, but 10yo's true love is a game called Terraria (basically Minecraft, but 2D and a LOT more stuff!) He's such a huge fan that his last TWO birthdays have been Terraria themed! With the internet being the cool place it is, after posting about my kids obsession, I became mutuals with the creator of Terraria, Redigit! HUGE Mom Cred earned!!! ๐Ÿ˜Ž We got to chatting and at one point he said something along the lines of "So when's the Terraria comic coming?" He was joking, but now I wanted to make it happen! The problem was, Terraria is a bit more niche than Minecraft, so I needed a way to reference it while still appealing to everyone. I came up with the idea of Fran trying to keep up while Vincent switches through games. Terraria and Minecraft were obvious contenders, but I needed a #3. 8yo had been playing a lot of Pokรฉmon, so that was my first idea, but Pokรฉmon now looks very different to the classic look I wanted to draw. I was stumped on the 3rd game for a while until my kid brought up Animal Crossing! I'd drawn the family as Animal Crossing characters back in 2020 so it would be great to have an excuse to use them in a comic! I got to work on the comic by tracing real game characters and tweaking them to make them my own. I redid the Animal Crossing ones, making them closer to real cat characters in the game, but after looking back at my 2020 reedition, I decided to go with that one instead because it was more fun! When it came time to draw the Terraria characters, I showed 10yo the comic and asked if he could help me by designing some in-game characters I could trace. He was OUTRAGED! Not at the request, but at the fact Vincent goes back to Minecraft at the end instead of his beloved Terraria! I explained that the Minecraft movie was coming out, so it would be good for the comic to start with Minecraft Fran, but he wasn't having any of it and refused to help me until I changed it. Well what choice did I have?! I changed it! ๐Ÿ˜… I didn't actually end up using the in-game characters he made (turned out easier to adapt models I found online) but I gleefully took his clever idea of doing game chat boxes instead of speech bubbles! So cool when your kids get old enough to be helpful!! ______________________________ If you enjoyed this post consider subscribing to my P@treon where I do write ups and videos like this for every comic! I spent 4 days finishing this pencil on paper portrait and every second was worth it. Hii Ansem ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ€„๏ธ, I hope this piece finds you well. Plenty of people create memes, Some build communities, A few build conviction but youโ€™ve done all three with $ANSEM. What stood out wasnโ€™t the charts or the attention, it was that you airdropped seven plus figures of $ANSEM back to the community in a bid to reignite the Solana ecosystem and on behalf of myself and all solana ecosystem enthusiasts we appreciate you! . You built something people genuinely want to be part of. โ€œTake first, give laterโ€ is the default in this industry but You did the opposite. So I wanted to contribute something back, not just with words, but with 4 days of my time and effort. Every stroke was intentional, paying tribute to what matters most to you โ€œfamilyโ€. If this resonates, Iโ€™d be incredibly grateful if youโ€™d consider blessing me with $3,300 worth of $ANSEM so I can finally open my first art gallery. Right now I create everything from home and a dedicated space would change everything for me. As for the rest of the $ANSEM token, I plan on holding all the way. A $10B+ valuation doesnโ€™t sound crazy to me it sounds inevitable. Thank you for inspiring a community that believes not just in a token, but in the values behind it. With respect, A Black Bull believer. ๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ€„๏ธ

My honest impressions for The Blood Of Dawnwalker are ready. Bookmark it so you can return to it. ๐Ÿ“Œ I know you're in a hurry. So here's the TLDR: The game is a strong narrative piece so far. I'd describe it as a mature story with a focus on consequences. The time mechanic is very cool and does not hinder gameplay at all. In fact, it adds a really fun twist to the gameplay and makes you genuinely care about the people around you because your actions directly impact them. The villain is not afraid to be straight-up evil. How refreshing! You're in for a thrilling prologue where you learn the fundamentals of the game and see a reflection of the themes and writing the game has in store for us. Still here? Enjoy the rest of the impressions then: Characters make mistakes, and some are even self-conscious about their personal flaws! So refreshingly well written. I love it when characters are this believable. I really love Anca so far and to find out she was voiced by Nightsong from Baldur's Gate 3 was a great surprise. Brencis is also fantastic. The voice acting is also so well done. Everything was perfect here. Laslea is dreadful with a heavy atmosphere. It reminded me of From Town (From TV Show) because of the normalcy people try to keep to to despite their predicament. It is genuinely horrifying to picture yourself living as cattle for Brencis and his clan. The story so far is easy to follow. The pacing in the prologue was great. The build-up to Brencis was well done and his interest in Coen is fascinating. I think it's funny how he's kind of obsessed with Coen. THANK YOU REBELWOLVES for having a villain who's straight up evi... a HERO. He removed taxes and hard labour, what a legend. All he asked for in return was a pint of blood. The gameplay feels like an evolution of The Witcher 3 formula. The combat, however, is closer to a Kingdom Come game. I personally liked it because it offers a fun system where you can perfect parry and do cool duels with multiple enemies. Vampirism changes it all up and offers unique traversal mechanics on top. Some actions can only be done during daytime whereas some other actions require you to be a vampire. Still talking gameplay here: the time mechanic is fascinating. Not the first time it's been done but for this game specifically, it makes sense and it adds so many stakes to EVERY quest. There was an old lady I wanted to help but I didn't make it in time because I prioritized my mum so she suffered a harsh consequence... That said, only some quests are time sensitive. You can still do a ton of quests that don't advance time. The soundtrack... What can I say here? Rebelwolves cooked. It's a treasure. Visuals are beautiful. The materials, character models and especially the clothing are all made with great attention to detail. And the eyes are so beautiful too. Performance: Unlike what some others are reporting though I had a very smooth gameplay experience with zero stutters. That said, it's an Unreal Engine 5 game so the better your hardware the better your experience so I don't speak for all. Let us know how your experience is with the game so far. Other notes: if you're a Witcher fan, this is a must play for you. Also, Mirto's haircut is funny.

Now that I am home and have access to my files I decided to do a quick test with one of my Vtubing avatars. It works way better with my larger iPad Pro (less crashing/more memory and more screen space) compared to the mini so I did want to bring that up. Importing the file over as GLB was more stable than just OBJ plus it kept the color info from the previous texture. I texture all my avatars on substance painter but have been looking at an alternative when I am out and about that is not on the computer and this actually hits all the right "wants". Adding a quick video of the way the app works for me. I like that it has layers, I can alter my brushes and even add stabilization when I am drawing (which I use that extensively on procreate so that was a huge plus). The stamp tools will come in handy as well but did not show it on this video. The file itself is imported as "one mesh" but each part is treated as their own separate piece which I show in the video. I do the same thing on substance painter making it really easy for me to texture. The app then exports the texture out for each object which is the same way I do so on substance. Overall I am extremely impressed with the work Sparseal has done on this application and see how useful this will be for my current work flow of texturing. I for one love the ability to be "portable" which is a big reason I sculpt so much with Nomad Sculpt on the iPad. Having the freedom to do your work away from a desk and if you feel like doing it outside is probable why I yearn for iPad apps so much like so. Give this app a look, it is free to try on the App Store (It is $19 to be able to export, but a one time buy). It is called "Wafer" for the iPad. I already use CozyBlanket from the same creator to do re topology so I expected this level of fantastic with this current app.

Day 8-9 of building an AMM. (repos in the next post) I added the protocol fee + the swap fees to LPs yesterday. It's the same as Uniswap v2, which is 0.25% (goes to LP) + 0.05% (goes to protocol) per swap. It was actually not that easy, as you want to spend the least amount of gas (CUs) possible, and you have to compound the fees into the pool. But I figured it out and in the end, it hopefully works. I don't transfer the fee out of the pool on every swap for the protocol, fees just go to the liquidity pool's LP token associated token account on deposits/withdraws, which I'll be able to withdraw later. (instruction still needs to be implemented) I still haven't written a test in Mollusk, and instead I started working on the frontend, for reason I won't tell you now... but just let me tell you that there may be good thing coming out of this whole AMM project besides just the AMM. So we'll put the tests on hold, for now. About the frontend... well yeah. This is the part I hate the most. I don't like frontend development. I'm not really good at it, and I can just get by fine, especially with Claude. If vibecoding was invented for something, it was frontend. God bless Claude for being a React beast. All I really did with the frontend today was initilize it from the solana template, and make the basic interface without hooking it up to the program. So everything you see is just mock data, I have attached a small little video on how it looks now. The recorder is laggy for some reason, so bear with me, but the actual site is fine, for the most part. (and also the video quality is really shitty on X, idk why) Just FYI, I'm gonna be taking a break from building this AMM for a couple days, and there will be less updates for a bit - I have exams soon for university and I have to study, and I also have to work on some other stuff. Maybe I'll stick to these updates to once a week? We'll see, I like doing it a lot so I might end up working anyways lmfaooooo. Your patience & attention is always appreciated, and thank you for following along!

The Circle (2000, Panahi)/ Iran "Political movies have limited time. After that time, it doesnโ€™t say anything anymore. But if the whole thing is said in an artistic way, then it doesnโ€™t have an expiration date." --- Jafar Panahi Full Excerpt: "Interviewer: The subject matter of 'The Circle' (2000) is controversial. You mentioned that the film is still banned in Iran. In fact, when I was watching the film, I realized that through the characters, thereโ€™s a lot of fear about the system, the establishment, the police. The women canโ€™t smoke; they have to wear the chador; they seem to want to hide every time. This is all very clear from watching the film. Did you deliberately want to make a statement about the political situation in Iran? Panahi: I have to tell you again that Iโ€™m not a political person. I donโ€™t like political movies. But I take every opportunity to comment on the social issues. I talk about the current issues. To me itโ€™s not important what is the reason for what has happened. Whether itโ€™s political reasons or geographical reasons: these are not importantโ€”but the condition, the social issues. It is important to me to talk about the plight of humanity at that time. I donโ€™t want to give a political view, or start a political war. I think that the artist should rise above this. Political movies have limited time. After that time, it doesnโ€™t say anything anymore. But if the whole thing is said in an artistic way, then it doesnโ€™t have an expiration date. So it doesnโ€™t really serve a political purpose. Then it can be everlasting, for always, and it could be for anywhere. But I know that politically, with the film authorities, with any kind of film that has some political background in it, they would take issue with it. And for this reason, that is what the problem is. Interviewer: Still, your film makes a very strong statement about the problems that women face in Iran. Panahi: Yes, I agree with that. Interviewer: So that is humanitarian, of course, but itโ€™s also political. Panahi: Yes, I agree with that. It has the elements. It all depends on how you look at it. If a person has only political views, then he will only see the political. But if you are a poet or an artist, then you see other things as well in the movie. If you are a socialist, you see political or economic or whatever different points of view. You mustnโ€™t look at a film with only one point of view. If you want to see 'The Circle' (2000) as political, then it is one of the most political movies in Iran. By political, I mean partisan politics. But even the police, I didnโ€™t want to show them as bad. In the first instance, you are afraid of the police. Because you are looking at them from the point of view of someone who is now in prison. And normally you see him in a long shot, but when they come nearer and you see them in a medium shot, you can see their human faces. Then it comes down to, โ€œDo you need any help?โ€ But he goes back again and becomes frightening. If I were being political, then I would always show the police as dangerous or bad persons." (Jafar Panahi's interview with Stephen Teo, Senses of Cinema, 2001)

gunwook day 3 encore full ending ment ๐Ÿ˜ญ ๐Ÿ’Œ ๐Ÿงธ i need to deliver a message so iโ€™ll hold back a bit. okay so, time has really flown by really fastโ€ฆ the tourโ€ฆ i mean after the tour, and performing today. starting with โ€˜here i amโ€™ and all the title songs.. itโ€™s just all these songs, all these performancesโ€ฆ it reminds me of the times we worked on all that. and all the emotions i had back thenโ€ฆ the situation of the members. all the things weโ€™ve said to each otherโ€ฆ and all of that is just soโ€ฆ it feels it was just yesterday. and it was hard for me to hold back my emotions. but still, i held back for this performance! so i really tried to meet eyes with the membersโ€ฆ i thought i would cry so hard if i did, unable to perform. i was just looking down at the ground. but thinking about it now, i should have just looked at them at least once more, and just gone with it. and now, since we canโ€™t meet up as much anymore. even if it would have made me cry, i should have looked at them once more. thatโ€™s what i thought, so i have no regrets. also, yesterday i talked a bit about zerose. so, today i want to talk about the members. you could say that itโ€™s just a coincidence that weโ€™ve meet up but the fact that weโ€™re come this far is destiny. and also, i think that my team means more to me than just a simple idol group relationship. i can say that with confidence. so after i debuted, the reason i didnโ€™t feel lonelyโ€ฆ itโ€™s all thanks to my members. i can knock on the doors if im bored, i can text them, telling them to game with me that was what held me up for the past 3 years. also, i have a personality, i cant say i have a great personality but the members enabled me to try to work even harder on that. im so thankful for the way they helped me grow. im grateful that i have such great members and im thankful for the 8 who watched my back. im happy to have them walk before me. and also, going forward, im sure we can meet up in private too. but still, we shared so many moments on stage and that leaves regrets too. and to zerose who united 8 of us, thank you so much. i canโ€™t talk about the past 3 years within a few minutes but itโ€™s just โ€ฆ ive been grateful from the bottom of my heart. im so lucky to be a part of zb1. it was filled with beautiful moments that might never come again and the members thy made it possible ricky, taerae, hanbin, yujin, gyuvin, matthew, jiwoong. this has been zb1โ€™s park gunwook. thank you so much for everything!

Abbas Kiarostami on how he developed his scripts & on his directing style: "I don't have very complete scripts for my films. I have a general outline and a character in my mind, and I make no notes until I find the character who's in my mind in reality. When I find the character, I try to spend time with them and get to know them very well. Therefore my notes are not from the character that I had in my mind before, but are instead based on the people I've met in real life. It's a long process, it may take six months. I only make notes, I don't write dialogues in full. And the notes are very much based on my knowledge of that person. Therefore when we start shooting I don't have rehearsals with them at all. So, rather than pulling them towards myself, I travel closer to them; it's very much closer to the real person than anything I try to create. So I give them something but I also take from them. There's a Rumi poem that helps to explains this - it goes something like this: You are like the ball subject to my polo stick; I set you in motion, but once you're off and running, I am the one in pursuit. Therefore, when you see the end result, it's difficult to see who's the director, me or them. Ultimately, everything belongs to the actors - we just manage the situation. This kind of directing, I think, is very similar to being a football coach. You prepare your players and place them in the right places, but once the game is on, there's nothing much you can do - you can smoke a cigarette or get nervous, but you can't do much. Directors don't always create, they can also destroy with too many demands. Using non-actors has its own rules and really requires that you allow them to do their own thing." ("Abbas Kiarostami", Guardian interviews at the BFI, The Guardian, 2005) P.S: Remembering the great Iranian filmmaker Abbas Kiarostami on his 86th birthday!
