Today was a good day for Brix. All his issues improved or stayed the same without deteriorating. The fluid in his body lessened and he is down to 38% O2 from 50%. His heart sounded and look good on scans. Cancer was ruled out. He is feisty and wants out. Every day where things improve is a step in the right direction. As I wrote on Substack, it gives us hope. Hope is good enough for today.

A hard rescue today as I got a message from a kind local lady who needed help with an old blind dog. The poor boy was most likely dumped in the area because the “end was close for him”. He was confused on the beach and stuck. He wouldn’t have lasted much longer were it not for their bravery. His vet results were about as bad as it gets. His eyes might be glaucoma as he can’t see a thing and his kidneys and liver are bad as well as severe anemia. His anemia is so bad we can’t even put him on a drip. While I was driving him around I just had to keep talking to him as his head would keep dropping. His body is so weak. He is also very hard to handle as he lashes out with bites as he can’t see what is going on around him. He is terrified. The ladies called him Rocky as they are hoping he will make a comeback. It won’t be easy at all but he did start eating, drinking and resting well this evening. We will all have to keep everything crossed for this lovely boy. Whatever happens he isn’t on his own and he has the best medical care now. Rocky even let me pet his head tonight. I think he understands he is safe.

RESCUE. We received a phone call today, to tell us that a cat was in distress by the road side. He was found in a bad condition, unable to stand very well or walk far. He was caught and taken back to the Sanctuary clinic. The temperature here today is 42°centigrade, (107.6° Fahrenheit). His body temperature was 42.5° centigrade, he is severely dehydrated and very disorientated. He has sunstroke and we are treating him at Ernestos clinic. He has been cleaned up, been placed on a drip and eaten a good meal. Our hopes for his recovery are high. Donations are welcomed, towards meds and food to aid his recovery - and to refill our medicine and store cupboards.

On February 21, Maksym was driving his girlfriend home from work. He worked at the post office. He heard an explosion. Despite losing consciousness, Maksym managed to get out of the car and saw Ukrainian Defenders running toward him to help. Maksym was first operated on in Sloviansk. He underwent high-level amputations of his arm and leg. He was then transferred to Dnipro with a fragment lodged near his heart. Doctors at the cardiology center removed the shrapnel to save his life. To save Maksym, more than six liters of blood products were transfused at Mechnikov Hospital. Charlie Ely, Kyle Hooper and Amber Wright being told they are being charged with murder for their involvement in the death of Seath Jackson in 2011. In 2011, Seath Jackson, a 15-year-old boy, was tragically killed in a brutal ambush. He was lured to a house by his ex-girlfriend, where he was viciously attacked and shot multiple times. Despite being shot in the head, Seath made a desperate attempt to escape the property, according to police reports. However, Seath was shot again and his body was forced into a bathtub. His knees were brutally broken to ensure his body would fit inside a sleeping bag. He was then shot again, and his body was then burned in a backyard fire pit. His ashes were subsequently shoveled into paint containers. Seath Jackson had suspected his ex-girlfriend, Amber Wright, of cheating on him with Michael Bargo, an 18-year-old who was the one with the gun. Michael Bargo was sentenced to death for his involvement in the killing, while his four co-defendants – Amber Wright, her 16-year-old brother Kyle Hooper, 18-year-old Charlie Ely, and 20-year-old Justin Soto – were charged with first-degree murder.
