God bless these teachers, administrators&parents that are coming forward&sharing what isn’t working for students.I do think we need to get back to the old school ways of learning. If students were testing better, were proficient in reading&math this wouldn’t be an issue.Thoughts?

We NEED the Dept. of Education—no matter how much Republicans try to tell you otherwise. Schools need funding. Students’ rights need to be protected. Teachers & parents need data to know how to help kids succeed. But Trump & McMahon are breaking all of that to pieces.

Let’s say this louder for the people in the back. Children under the supervision of schools do not have a right to leave campus whenever they want. Teachers and school administrators who are facilitating these walkouts need to be held accountable!

America spends more on education than almost any other country, yet our reading and math scores are the WORST in the G7 and G20. Why? Unions. Unions protect mediocrity and keep bad teachers in place, while great teachers who actually make an impact get underpaid. That’s insane! If we want to fix education, we need to fire the bad teachers and pay the great ones a LOT more. I’m all for rewarding results. If you’re advancing math and reading scores, you should be making a great salary. If you’re holding students back, you’re out!

Teachers from Connaught School for Girls were on strike for three weeks during a critical exam period for their students. This resulted in students counter-protesting and demanding that the teachers return to school. Now, I support the right for workers to strike. But look at this picket line. Keffiyehs and Palestinian flags. An all-girls school in London has nothing to do with Gaza or the Middle East. Why are these teachers choosing Palestine over their students?
