We always taught people to grab them and pin them on the ground with your hand on their back, then take your free hand and using the peace sign pin their head to the ground from the back of their neck using that V. Roosters will do that to establish a literal pecking order and they get it after the 2nd or 4th time doing it.

As someone who owned chickens, specifically roosters and hens, I've fought a few and if you are aware and not retarded, you just have to grab it by it's tail feathers or neck and you've won. Also, wear boots, jeans and gloves. The talons will have you fucked up.
