Good things are about to unfold. Apple is preparing an “Opened or Closed” automation in Shortcuts for iPhone Duo. Here it is switching between the Light and Night Dunes wallpapers.

They can figure out the most mind blowing unfolding animation anyone has ever seen but the transition between wallpapers is still a jump cut?

The only new thing here is the hinge state automation trigger. You can try the wallpaper switching action today on your iPhone with a Focus switch automation or similar. It’s the same jump cut effect.

So this means if you really want to you can have different homescreens on both displays technically.

Wallpaper swap is a fun demo, but I'd bet the real use ends up being a Focus flip, work mode when it's open and off when it's closed.
