Trump just signed an executive order renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America. Effective immediately in the United States. Same play as the Gulf of America. People called the first one a joke. They can call this one a joke too. Federal maps, federal agencies, and the water on our shore do not have to take their cue from Ottawa. This is not about hurting a lake. It is about who writes the terms after Canada walked away from fair trade. If Ontario wants the old name, it can keep saying it. America does not have to. Names follow power. Waters on our side of the line get an American name. That is the point.

Trump is renaming Lake Ontario Lake America, and I’m honestly shocked nobody thought of this sooner. We’ve had presidents, senators, governors, think tanks, Ivy League geniuses… and apparently not ONE person looked at that giant lake and said, “You know what? Lake America sounds better.” Then Trump walks in and figures it out. This is exactly why I voted for the guy. Sometimes the greatest ideas are sitting right in front of everybody, waiting for Trump to show up and make them obvious. Genius.
