This is probably the biggest news yet in software going headless, and will bring knowledge work agents to the masses. The new ChatGPT agents have access to any of the tools and data you want to work with, with complete coding and tool use available to them. Here's an example of a custom sales assistant agent uses Box as a knowledge source for accessing enterprise content securely to answer questions and generate new content on the fly. The workflows can obviously vastly far more complex as the agent can use any of the tools within Box available via MCP and CLI. This precisely what agents will start to look like for knowledge work. You'll be able to spin them up in the foreground or background to help augment work. Big opportunity right now for headless platforms, and for all the new builders and designers of these agents in the enterprise.

No single tool has all the data a user or business needs for most workflows, so we need Agents to be able to talk to each other. Salesforce will have AI Agents that understand the inner workings of CRM, Workday will have AI Agents that understand HR workflows, Box has AI Agents that understand content and documents, and so on. It’s easy to conceive of a world where we have tens of thousands of these tool Agents and then billions or trillions of customized Agents that are extensions of those. So openness becomes key. Workflows need data from multiple systems to complete the task — like a sales report that needs documents and CRM data or an HR task that needs HR policies and employee details — and that’s where A2A comes in. This protocol gives AI Agent providers a way of talking to each other and simplifying the way that Agents communicate, understand each other’s capabilities, and so on. For generative AI to become an interesting art tool, we need much more control over the output. The slot-machine-like nature of pure text-to-image leaves too much to chance. Using the "Real-time Latent Consistency Model" that I'm using in the example here, is the first time I truly got a glimpse of a future where we'll be able to use our artistic skills and sensibility, to get control over AI image gen. Systems like these will never be able to match the quality or originality of a skilled artist, it won't surprise us in the same way an artist can. Things are a mess in terms of the training data these models are based on, and the questions about copyright concerns and about a time when everything will look the same are very valid. At some point capabilities like these will be embedded in photoshop, and anyone will be able to generate a pretty picture. But to create interesting designs, to tell original stories and to surprise us, we need creatives and artists with something on their mind. We'll be able to create immersive worlds, by making brush-strokes and sculpt marks, without needing to worry about all the dials, plugins, wires of our 3d and 2d tools today. I love to sculpt, I love to draw, and I love to explore new mediums and new ways to create. The Gen AI tools we have today are far from perfect, and things need to be steered in a better direction. For that we need artists to help point the way. Gen AI isn't going away.. it's too powerful and has the potential to allow us to tell stories like never before. Like all other big technological shifts, tech like this will come at a cost, but it will also open up new opportunities and empower a new generation of storytellers. I might be naive, but I believe that human ingenuity and creativity will persevere in this new world ♥️ #art #ai

How do you verify AI? Great question. I would invite us to take a step back to the fundamentals of the question we're asking here: Accountability requires identity. To manage counterparty risk with AI agents, we need to be able to have some accountability mechanism. That means we need to be able to identify instances of AI agents to be able to determine, for example, whether they're acting on behalf of a party that's passed KYC with an acceptable provider, whether they're acting on behalf of a party who is not on a sanctions list, or not part of the OFAC address set, and being able to verify that an agent is acting on behalf of an individual who's above a certain age. This allows us to deploy much more sophisticated multi-agent workflows and role sets. But of course, first we need to be able to ask that agent, "Who are you accountable to? Who are you representing?" This is also essential in a world where deep fakes and misrepresentations of real individuals are rampant. In fact, I actually had the personal and very weird experience recently of seeing a deep fake of myself circulate on this very platform on X. Additionally, my co-founder and colleague has heard about deep fakes misrepresenting him joining Google Meet calls and misrepresenting his person, his resources, his activities. So in order to verify who you're interacting with, especially when it comes to not only "Are they a human being or not?" but also, "Are they the real human being?" this again gets us back to the question of which identifiers are we using and how are they accountable back to organizations and entities who we know and trust. But happy to answer any questions that you have on the agent identity front. That's definitely one of the more frontier capabilities that we're releasing some awesome stuff around in the next few weeks.
