the skill divide framing assumes AI stays this accessible. what happens when the frontier models go full enterprise-only or regulation locks down fine-tuning? the gap might not be usage, it'll be who can afford access

AI is not an Easy button. It is a tool that requires some level of skill to operate. In my experience, it cannot be trusted and requires babysitting. I question the value. I suspect a lot of companies are going to look back and see they spent a lot of money on AI but have almost nothing to show for it.

.@demishassabis Please be specific---don't use the term "AI", specify instead what you'd like to communicate with such name/concept/product instead (Applied ML? Applied stats?). There has been much miseducation & fraud (deception) in the name of "AI", better steer clear from it.

If you’re still contemplating whether to embrace AI or not in this era, you’re already behind. But you do not have to learn everything about how to use AI at once, take it gradually beginning with AI prompt training to know how to ask AI to work the way you want it to. It gets easier from there.

The divide isn't consumer usage; it's infrastructure comprehension. Those engineering the orchestration layers win long term.
