Google founder Larry Page explains how he decides what to work on When asked about his philosophy and only working on “10x ideas”, Page invokes the idea of additionality from economics: “It means doing something that wouldn’t happen unless you’re actually doing it. [now that i think about it,] it wasn’t turning 30 that was important for me. i just happened to find my turning point and felt better in my 30s, but if it’s not the case for you, i think life turns more enjoyable the moment you make up your mind and determination. though it just sounds like a mere mindset difference, isn’t that the hardest part? it’s definitely not easy 🐻: “can you tell me that i’m doing well?”—you’re doing well! but i don’t think me telling you those words is what’s important because won’t it truly be more meaningful if it’s you who lives believing in your own self? i’ve also come to live that way now, though i know that’s something really hard to do… but still, i realised that’s the best way. making even a slight shift to our mindset’s so hard, isn’t it? 🐻: “what should i do if i don’t have confidence?”—keep doing it until you have that confidence or try your best to put aside all the reasons you’re unconfident. you’ll surely gain confidence that way, though of course, support from the people around you helps with confidence boost too. for example, i initially started believing that i might actually be better than how i viewed myself because my days believe in me, but in the long run, i have to be the one building my own confidence up. i think it’s most important that you recognise and validate your own self in the end! 🐻: “i’m afraid of the future”—you can be. i think i’ve said this before, but nothing changes even if we’re afraid. if you’re afraid of something that’s inevitably gonna happen, contemplating about it allows for good preemptive measures instead, but for all those minor worries? i think it’s better to take action after those things do happen, since i heard 90% of the things we worry about won’t actually happen. it’ll be okay, i believe

coming from an experienced artist, i think this is the most genuine and meaningful compliment one could ever give to yuta. thank you jaejoong 🙏🏻 love their friendship 🥹 JJ: the reason why is, i think just doing what you’re told to and just going with the flow, its like theres no sense of preparing for the future in that. but when idols start thinking about their future & their music, and when they're at a point where they start to think on how they can grow, i think that is really admirable. for example, a friend named yuta from nct, he's been doing some solo activities in rock music. i heard that he will be on tour this year too. 👤: you really keep up with the junior artists who are doing rock music arent you? JJ: it's nice. it makes me feel really excited & happy, and like i wanna go & watch their perfomance/ concert too!! so when i see things like that, i think these kinds of attempts which is not just about the rock genre, or about the music that will sell well and get many streams, but just the fact that artists are willing to attempt on a challenge, even when they know there might be risks. this kind of mindset alone is something that i'm really thankful for. it makes me think that the work/ things i do, and even for the junior artists who are starting to try out, i just want to say to them that "we did well' and applause them for it 👏🏻 "
