Google has confirmed that digital ID functionality is coming to UK Android devices soon. The move is partly driven by the UK's Online Safety Act, which mandates strict age verification for online content it deems to be harmful.

What also comes in is a bill they passed last year called the The Digital Duty of Care (DDoC) Bill, which will impose broad obligations on digital platforms to prevent online harms by requiring them to track and surveil Australian users 24/7 online using AI to monitor and report "harmful" or "dangerous" speech to authorities. The DDoC targets all users by mandating platforms to proactively manage content that could be deemed harmful, regardless of the user's age, and what is determined to be harmful is up to bureaucrats from the eSafety office. Challenge Climate change ? Knock knock Immigration critic? Knock knock Misgendering someone ? Knock Knock. The Online safety select committee noted in December last year this the DDoC bill is the first of several ‘staggered’ laws to roll out to augment age verification. Boy I wonder what those laws will be? Albanese stated to the Press last week he will be meeting with Chris Luxon to discuss how he can roll out mirror legislation here in NZ. A taste of what to expect in NZ. The Reform Party in the UK has just had a campaign video removed that is critical of immigration, using the UK Governments equivalent of National & Labours Social Media age restriction policy. Starmer has implemented the ‘Online safety act’ designed to - wait for it ‘protect children’ but is now being used to ban political messaging that the Censorship industrial complex don’t like. King Charles confirmed that Digital ID will be introduced by the UK Parliament meaning soon everyone in the UK will be monitored, banned and even personal messages will be scanned to ensure no wrong thing is going on. In the old days the cost of a dictatorship and the need for getting the army onside and other institutions meant these regimes would only develop in 3rd world shit holes. Digital ID and technological control means squashing dissent can be done at a click of a button. National, Labour, Greens can’t wait to get us into the digital grid.

I don't buy that the social media age ban is about child safety at all. It is about verifying everyone's ID to get on social media, and it is about removing young people's right to engage in the conversation online. It is the thin end of a very nasty wedge. The start of an Australian digital prison... an online penal colony. I will not be calm. We must push back.
