"Got charged $250 for being checked out after doing CPR. Thanks Alberta!!" #Alberta #abpoli
Комментарии: 34

He was treated by the crews, which means that they have to fill out the necessary paperwork for a refusal to transport.. the billing is typically sent out regardless.. all he has to do is contact AHS and talk to one of the folks in the office.

Send them an invoice back for $2,500 for First responder CPR services.

How Conservatives are destroying our healthcare system in order to bring in American style, for profit healthcare.

I think they owe you $250. Thanks for stepping up to perform CPR. I guess we should never give our name when we are a first responder. I hope you get this resolved without any hassle.

Call Billing & tell them the bill is a mistake. Explain what happened & tell them you don't accept this bill.

@JasonOnTheDrums While dipshit @ABDanielleSmith is being the fun police.

This must be a mistake if not, this is unacceptable.

So gracious too. I’m sure he wouldn’t change a thing he did. Another exhibit in the HC in AB is broken museum.

Such a scam, we pay for the services through out taxes and then we get charged on top of that. People may be hesitant to call 911 knowing they will be billed later. You did a wonderful thing, they should not be charging you for helping.

Call them and if they don’t reverse the charges go to the media with your story. No way you should be charged. If you don’t want the hassle and have benefits through work they should pay for a good amount as well. Sorry this happened to you.

But but Universal Healthcare is free. This is just another incentive to avoid the administrative state and Seperate from the central committee in Ottawa and reboot Alberta.

I don’t understand why they charged you. I never got charged when an ambulance was called for me. 🤔. Hopefully you can appeal it. 🤞

I knew a bar bouncer who took a glass in the back of the head during a bar brawl involving 20 people years ago. He had his bell rung but was otherwise ok. EMS was tending to another participant who was actually in rough shape and asked my friend if they could check him out quickly just to confirm he was ok. He literally sat in the back of the ambulance for 2 minutes, shined a light in his eyes, touched the spot on his head where the glass struck and sent him on his way. Less than a week later, got a bill for $181 bucks, when he refused to pay it, they sent it to a collection agent.

@notncalgary This is crazy.

@JasonOnTheDrums That’s unbelievable! But this is the UCP and dictator Dani. Good on you though!

@sh_mla They assessed you after you performed CPR because they have a duty of care and need to account for the services they provide and their liability. I’m sure many Albertans would gladly help cover the cost. Thank you for stopping to save someone’s life.

What a sick perverse joke to send the first responders a bill?! What kind of signal are they trying to send to anyone thinking of being a first responders to any tragic event??? So they think twice because they will be punished by the system??? Unbelievable & grotesque!

Broke ass nigga LOL!

Isn't there a Good Samaritan Act that covers this?

If you were in the same situation in BC without a BC health card the fee is $848 while it’s $50 with a card.

Never give your health card number if you’re not being transported

No good deeds go unpunished

Mostly in Canada that bill exists to stop people from using the ambulance as a taxi service and make sure that they're only called for emergencies. They're very used to reducing legitimate bills so I'm certain they'll see the sense in dropping yours.

@JasonOnTheDrums What? Thank you for saving a life. This could only happen in Alberta! Schocking and sickening!

What a joke

I guess it's true that No good deed goes unpunished.

they weren't charging you for helping the survivor (thank you btw for saving his life - #Hero ) they charged for med atten YOU received - they did and saw enough to suggest you go to hosp. that time and effort needs to be accounted for and paid by someone

Too bad you live in shitberta.

You were seen by a professional who was already there so I would pay 50 to 100 not the full 250. Let's us know if you get this reviewed

This is the Tax your unfortunately paying for Deceitful Dani’s $100/- rebate. Shameful that you are being billed $250/-

What does this have to do with Alberta?

👀

absolutely not. Never have i heard of being charged for not being transported. Don’t pay it. complain.

Email is a scam out here .
