The Alberta model… naive, simplistic, short-sighted — as sadly, most Con policies are.

So where does this leave human beings who need support with addictions? Dead, in too many cases if they live in this province they’d for sure. 🤬

The Alberta model is essentially a "warehousing" of addicts. Get them out of sight. They will staff the center with religious folks who will help the addicts "pray" their addiction away. Once their time is up the addicts will go out and OD. End of story.

Alberta is only in it to harvest organ donors.

This guy nails it. Where do we get the staff? Or do they staff it with anyone and then pick and choose who can attend because they won’t have the education/background to support concurrent or complex dx. This is happening in the community already!

Can’y find the quote, but saw a clip of Smith saying you recover or you die.

@bobittyboop Political Conservatism always fails. That is all you need to know.

Maybe because our conservative leadership defunds any public service to help the least advantaged

Because it's built on the ideals of ppl who don't care about anyone that's struggling.

and there it is, doomed to fail, but it'II be cheap
