If a sheep ends up on its back, it can be in serious danger. This position, known as being “cast,” prevents the sheep from getting up on its own. Trapped like that, the sheep’s organs can start to compress, leading to breathing difficulties and even d*ath within hours if not helped. I once watched a pair of Sandhill Cranes stand side by side, wings spread wide, wingtip to wingtip, as they pushed a massive alligator back into the water. Together, they looked like one giant two headed monster bird from some ancient myth. The alligator had gotten too close to their chick, and they did what any parent would do. Such a powerful bird, but they can also be incredibly delicate and this video is a perfect example. This adult probes the ground with its beak and finds a tasty treasure hidden in the soil. A grub dusted with sand—the bird’s version of a salted peanut. Okay, maybe not quite the same thing, but you get the idea. Watching this massive bird so delicately toss the grub to shake off the dirt is mesmerizing. Look closely, and you can see the bird using its tongue to position the grub in its beak. All that prep for a tiny meal, quickly devoured by one of its two chicks.

I've built a setup in Geometry Nodes to get data from bones, so now I can do things like make Normals from them, and I'm experimenting with much more. The Normal here is basically a cylinder around each bone. So it doesn't work that great around the shoulders, but its great on the arms and legs. Its the same idea as when you do radial/sphere Normals for a face or hair, but for the whole body.

"And as far as the two daycare centers in our area are concerned, I reached out by phone to the names and numbers listed as the licensed operators and I've not yet heard back," reporter Jay Kolls said back in January. "State lawmakers have told me that they would like this before some committees." "As soon as they can get the committees together, they want to bring it to some committees and start investigating and looking into it a little bit deeper." Any day now.

When The Doors learned that Van Morrison’s band THEM would be joining the lineup during their residency at the Whisky a Go Go, they nervously pulled their cover of “Gloria” from the set list. As the week went on and the bands got to know each other, “Gloria” made its way back into the lineup, ending with both bands joining together to perform it on the final night. Some songs just have a way of finding their way back.
