Governor Abbott lied to special needs Moms. Pretty low.

I don’t believe a word outta @GovAbbott mouth. He hasn’t solved rape. He hasn’t kept my lights on. He hasn’t acted after the shootings. He hasn’t fixed foster care. I hope that lady kept her hand on her wallet! #lyingliarslie

The Texas Education Agency Commissioner is *Appointed* by @GovAbbott. Abbott has been Gov. for 9 years. The ‘failures’ he cites to push taxpayer funded private religious school vouchers happened under his watch. @LtGovTX and @GregAbbott_TX are epic gaslighting failures.
Private schools are also not required to provide services mandated by IDEA. It’s irresponsible of Abbott to imply that private schools will provide the same or even similar special education services that IDEA (federal law) requires of public schools.

Private schools do not have the resources to meet the transportation or healthcare or support requirements needed for a disabled student to thrive.

My son had a 504 when he was in school. When charter schools first came out, he got in one. None of the 504 transferred over. A few months into school, he got in trouble, and they kicked him out.

Private schools can reject any applicant for any reason, even disabilities. Abbott knows he's lying. His end game is the destruction of public education and he'll say anything to get it.

Limited options "65 special education private schools are located in TX. How much do special education private schools cost in TX? The average tuition cost is $18,668, which is higher than the Texas private school average tuition cost of $10,461." source: Private School Review

I teach at a small private school. We do not have the resources to accommodate special needs children.

I think he really doesn’t believe he’s lying anymore he just tells whoever is front of him exactly what the want to hear!
