When a child’s school fails to meet their unique learning needs, parents should have the freedom to choose a different school. School choice gives parents the opportunity to choose the educational pathway that is best for THEIR child.

Maybe you should try FULLY FUNDING the public schools first.

But is doesn't. Private schools aren't required to accept every student. Parents of special needs children donate that option. Thankfully, there are teachers like some of my family members that teach them.

You are wasting your breath Governor! People with any type of intelligence realize we have parental choice, and always have had it. Oh, but using tax dollars meant for public education to pay for it- NO, that is where we draw the line!

When private schools start admitting every single kid that applies. regardless of accommodations or modifications that they require, let me know. But you already know they won’t. Do your job, man. Fully fund Texas public schools. Private schools can thrive on their own merit.

Wait…..are you telling me that every private school will accept any student that applies?? And they are offering every service required of public schools. AND are they also subjected to all accountability requirements? NO…well, let’s talk when that happens!!

This is absolutely terrifying to teachers unions and school districts... It takes away their power and political influence. They don't care about the kids.

As a Texas voter I want school choice! I live in a fantastic school district but I would love the choice to place her in private school and use the money I pay in my taxes to help fund her education at a place of MY choosing. Following the path I choose!

Private schools aren't required by law to take everyone's kids. Chances are if your child's "unique learning needs" aren't being met in public schools, a private school won't take them. This is why a MAJORITY of Texans oppose it. So much for parents bill of rights. 🙄
