We have a huge infrastructure spending backlog in Tshwane, especially in townships including in Hammanskraal. For years, our spending on infrastructure has lagged behind the city’s population growth. Many capital projects, for roads and storm water, were cancelled by the previous administration. We have taken a decision to correct this problem by allocating funds for infrastructure projects. We have set up a makeshift school for the children of Gaza who have missed over a year’s worth of school. Thousands of children have been robbed of their education Since the war broke out most of the schools like many other major infrastructure have been destroyed and completely flattened. We are pleased to be able to provide an opportunity for the pupils to attend their classes with a glimmer of hope to see their schools being built again.
