But we've also been highlighting some of these local governments that have been increasing budgets dramatically recently because what's happened is home values go up and that means they assess your properties higher and you get more tax revenue pouring into local governments. Broward, they haven't even had a net population increase their budgets up like 60% in the last four years! And so the question is: do you need that type of increase or would it be better to give the property tax relief? So that is ultimately, I think, what people want.”

Rubio on Cuba: The fundamental problem Cuba has is that it has no economy, and the people who are in charge of that country and in control of it don’t know how to improve the everyday lives of their people without giving up power over the sectors they control. They want to control everything. They don’t want the people of Cuba to control anything. So they don’t know how to get themselves out of this. And to the extent that they’ve been offered opportunities to do so, they don’t seem to be able to comprehend or accept them in any way. They would much rather be in charge of a dying country than allow it to prosper.

Former WV Senator Joe Manchin, who ultimately signed off on the Dems reconciliation that extended ACA subsidies through 2025, tells me the broken healthcare system will never be fixed if Congress keeps extending ACA subsidies. MANCHIN: "If you don't get a handle on this, you're never gonna get a hand on inflation. We knew it was a runaway train, had to be fixed. The deal that was made, the extension on that was made, okay, if you can't get it done, you got one more year to get it down. Oh, let's not do it in one year. That's an election year. We need two years. They knew it had to be fixed. Everybody knew it has to be fix and nobody wants to do it. There's going to have to be a hybrid of this, Jacqui. The people on the low end of the totem pole that are working, people between $25,000 and $50,000 of income working themselves off of welfare. And actually Delta Airlines just announced on their earnings call that they're gonna start using some of these algorithms to price some of their tickets. And so imagine a world in which you have the death in the family. You have to go home for a funeral. And they know that through scraping your email that is announcing when the service is gonna be, they know you're in a tight spot. So you're gonna be charged much more because of that."
