The notion that you should be just paying rent to them indefinitely: People have been pinched by these property taxes. We have an ability as a state with tourism and other things and snowbirds and all this to be able for local governments to have the adequate amount of revenue. But we've also been highlighting some of these local governments that have been increasing budgets dramatically recently because what's happened is home values go up and that means they assess your properties higher and you get more tax revenue pouring into local governments. Rubio on Cuba: The fundamental problem Cuba has is that it has no economy, and the people who are in charge of that country and in control of it don’t know how to improve the everyday lives of their people without giving up power over the sectors they control. They want to control everything. They don’t want the people of Cuba to control anything. So they don’t know how to get themselves out of this. And to the extent that they’ve been offered opportunities to do so, they don’t seem to be able to comprehend or accept them in any way. They would much rather be in charge of a dying country than allow it to prosper.

Former WV Senator Joe Manchin, who ultimately signed off on the Dems reconciliation that extended ACA subsidies through 2025, tells me the broken healthcare system will never be fixed if Congress keeps extending ACA subsidies. MANCHIN: "If you don't get a handle on this, you're never gonna get a hand on inflation. We knew it was a runaway train, had to be fixed. The deal that was made, the extension on that was made, okay, if you can't get it done, you got one more year to get it down. Oh, let's not do it in one year. That's an election year. Electing better people WON’T WORK! “I'm convinced that you're never going to be able to solve it unless you have constitutional constraints on the ability of Congress to bankrupt the country. If it's just saying we're going to go elect good people and they're going to do good policy, first of all, that may work one or two years, but then the next Congress undoes it and things just don't end up working.
