gp's are not always expert at Dx ! my neighbour told me today that blood cancer almost destroyed his spine whilst his damn GP did nothing but stuff him with pain killers for months ! he had to pay for his own private scan in the end in order to move towards a correct Dx !

Not my experience, regrettably. My late husbands' former GPs' - from same Health Centre - violated every Canon of the traditional patient-doctor trust imperative. Then they, all three, lied their heads off. Completely and utterly shameless.
