This is a plea to Department of Health and Social Care Wes Streeting to fund core General Practice The average GP practice has lost the equivalent of 2 GPs, a nurse & admin in funding over the last 8 years (20% cuts) It’s good there are negotiations but patients want & need to see GPs Funding needed!

GPs across England have sent a clear message. Nearly every GP who voted has rejected the Government’s imposed contract that would pile on work and be unsafe for patients. GPs want to work with Government on a new contract that’s properly resourced and sustainable. It’s time to return to the table.

Bring back the family Doctor We all want this as we know instinctively that seeing the same person or group of people is key to managing health better Yet with funding cuts there are fewer GPs available, making it harder for patients & GPs to provide the continuity of care needed

Hours waiting in A&E. Weeks for a GP appointment. Yet thousands of NHS doctors ready to help the public are being locked out of the system. Doctors need training jobs to qualify as Consultants and GPs; but the Government has capped the available number, creating a bottleneck that leaves doctors unemployed and patients waiting longer. This year there were 30,000 doctors applying for 10,000 NHS training posts. That’s the scale of the crisis Westminster won’t talk about. With no credible solution from Wes Streeting, this jobs crisis is one of the reasons Resident Doctors will be striking from the 17th of December. Patients need doctors. Doctors need jobs. The Government needs to act.
