I wished I could find another me who’s a straight dog and gets excited when projects are sent his way. Hired multiple editors and they all groaned when I’d drop a big project on em. Now I tell Astra my craziest ideas and smiles then sends me a rough draft.

Bro I bought davinci Resolve and tried Astra on it and it is so slow even with the AI Codex integration Got my refund today I use final cut pro and it edits faster than with davinci But then again I have all the projects in FCP

I am using Astra to edit videos as well, but you still need your own templates for everything to go faster. Otherwise it takes like 60 minutes for Astra to edit. But yeah it still is super useful 💪

Astra in DaVinci via MCP. is it driving the timeline and effects, or just exporting after you lock the cut?

Future Brian's profile picture

every. thing.

driving the timeline plus effects is the copyable part. is that MCP tools for clips and fx, or Astra clicking Resolve?

15 rounds, and there's still mistakes that I should continue fixing

Justin Lord's profile picture
Justin Lord3 days ago

yeah 15 rounds is avg to get the quality you want, for me sometimes it's 11 but next time it becomes 3 or lesser, but i think the 3d it did was pretty good, did you used fable or other model to get the same quality? been thinking davinci mcp could be better, how long did it take to finish each round btw?

Is there an updated article on how to work aith Astra - DaVinci MCP? I wanna start editing videos and clips with it

wtf that's actually insane. I might have to test this out for a video

ShotAI's profile picture

The useful test is whether the agent can explain which source moments each timeline choice came from. Does this workflow preserve source timecode and let you reopen the alternate clips it considered, or is review still mostly on the rendered timeline?

Curious where the DaVinci handoff works best: assembling the timeline, adjusting effects, or checking the final render? Those are very different kinds of editing work.

I’m having it recreate one of my Suno songs in pro logic to see if I can get around the Suno watermark

don't have the paid version with mcp yet, but astra managed to get perfect color grading for a 5 minute video with multiple clips, was pretty impressed
