*GRAPHIC CONTENT ADVISORY** Although this video may be extremely difficult to watch, it is an important example of the kinds of situations that our police officers may come across while performing their duties. Yesterday morning, October 23, 2025, two of our officers responded to a vehicular collision on I-30... between Eastchase Parkway and Cooks Lane that resulted in the female driver and an infant child being ejected from the vehicle. The infant was pinned beneath the overturned vehicle and was unresponsive. Sgt. R. Nichols (Badge #3590) and Officer E. Bounds (Badge #3521) with help from witnesses to the accident, were able to free the trapped infant. Sgt. Nichols immediately began to perform CPR on the unconscious infant, eventually waking the child and keeping her alive until Fort Worth Police arrived on scene. At this time, the woman and infant are in stable condition and expected to make a full recovery. We are beyond proud of the life saving actions performed by Sgt. Nichols and Officer Bounds for their bravery and quick response to this terrible scene. We are also grateful to the Fort Worth citizens who saw someone in danger and, without hesitation, assisted our officers. Report # 250079997show more

***Chief Garcia providing sound regarding a critical police incident – officer involved shooting that occurred this morning.*** The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a critical police incident-officer involved shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in East Fort Worth. On May 16, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m., FWPD East Division officers were on scene working a previous officer involved shooting near the 4200 block of Wiman Drive. While still investigating the shooting, a white SUV drove by multiple times at a high rate of speed. It appeared the driver was attempting to hit officers standing near their vehicles. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but the driver failed to stop. Officers pursued the SUV for approximately 15 minutes and eventually stopped the vehicle with a tactical vehicle intervention, also known as a PIT maneuver. Officers then approached the vehicle with their guns drawn and gave multiple verbal commands. The adult male subject did not comply with the officers’ orders and grabbed an officer’s handgun. At that point, multiple officers fired their guns and struck the suspect. Medical aid was provided by officers until the Fort Worth Fire Department arrived on scene. The male was pronounced deceased on scene. A Fort Worth Police Officer was injured during this incident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. It is unknown at this point how the officer was injured. The officer is listed in good condition. Detectives from the Major Case unit were called to the scene and are continuing the investigation. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Fort Worth Police Department at 817-392-4222. Tips may also be submitted anonymously through Tarrant County Crime Stoppers by visiting or calling 817-469-8477. Service Number: 260036358

Police are praising the "actions of the homeowner" who raced home to confront 30-year-old Jason Nichols with a shovel. On Monday afternoon, we received a 911 call for help on the Greater East Side after a good Samaritan spotted a child in a pond who appeared to be struggling to get out. Saint Paul Police immediately launched one of our docked drones, flown by a trained officer. The docked drone arrived on scene two minutes prior to officers’ arrival and was able to provide them with essential information about the location and status of the child. Officers were able to pull the child safely from the water. According to the child’s family, the child has autism and had wandered away from their home without them knowing. Our ability to swiftly locate and guide officers to the child using our docked drone resources resulted in this positive outcome. Learn more about SPPD’s Docked Drone Program at

Last month, Cook County Sheriff’s Police Sgt. Kevin Johnson was driving on southbound Interstate 90 near 16th Street when he noticed an overturned vehicle and stopped to help. When he approached the scene, Sgt. Johnson saw a man lying on the ground who was not breathing and had no pulse. Without hesitation, he began performing CPR. After a second round of chest compressions, the man began breathing again and regained a pulse. Sgt. Johnson remained by the man’s side until paramedics and Illinois State Police arrived. On December 24, 2025, at about 4:40 a.m., Dallas Police responded to a call for service in the 100 block of E Camp Wisdom Road. The preliminary investigation determined that a female was attempting to jump off a bridge near the location. Upon arrival, Senior Corporal Timothy Griffin, #11958 and Police Officer Carlos Gomez, #12963 observed the female seated extremely closed to the edge of the bridge. Officers recognized the immediate danger and quickly approached the female to secure her. Officers were able to grab and hold the female by one of her arms as she went over the edge and was hanging above the S.R.L. Thornton Freeway. Officers immediately requested additional cover units as they maintained physical control of the female. Sergeant Randall Mays, #10285 arrived on scene and assisted Senior Corporal Griffin and Police Officer Gomez to safely pull back the female over the railing. A week-old baby, not breathing. Any parent’s worst nightmare came true for a new Aurora mom last week. She was already on the way to the hospital and happened to see one of our officers stopped at a red light at Colfax and Sable. She quickly ran up to his car pleading for help. It’s second nature for our officers to do just that. Help. He began life-saving measures on the infant, performing CPR for nearly five minutes until Aurora Fire Rescue arrived to escort the baby to the hospital. Let that sink in. Nearly five minutes of CPR. Throughout it all, he remained calm, communicating with the child’s mom in both English and Spanish and assisting as an interpreter once medics took over. Because of his quick response and composure under pressure, that baby is alive today. This is what it means to serve. Knowing what to do in those critical moments can make all the difference. We encourage parents and caregivers to learn infant CPR. Do you know the steps for infant CPR? For a choking infant under 1 year, deliver 5 firm back blows between the shoulder blades using the heel of your hand while supporting them face-down on your forearm, head lower than chest. If the object does not dislodge, follow with 5 chest thrusts. Repeat this cycle until the object is expelled and the baby shows obvious signs of life, or continue until help arrives. Always here, Aurora. And, always willing to help.❤️

Just as the sun was setting last night Officers Castro and Ray were called to 30th and Valmont for a report of a vehicle that had crashed and was hanging precariously on a retaining wall. As they ran up to the car, they also learned that a 4-year-old child was in the back seat. Thankfully, with the assistance of Boulder Fire-Rescue , officers were able to get both the child and driver safely out of the car. The driver was charged with careless driving, reckless endangerment and child abuse due to the circumstances. Officers are investigating the possibility that the driver had a medical event. As in every criminal case, these charges are an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty. We’d like to note that Officer Ray’s comments about our firefighter friends are completely………true #boulder #bouldercolorado
