Shooting Drill: “1 More” Great drill when you have multiple players in the gym looking to get reps. Focus Points: •Shooters: Stay low, call for the ball, and hold your follow-through. •Passers: Snap the pass—make it sharp and on target. #bigenergy

Players often struggle to understand what coaches are looking for during the evaluation process. ➡️ What’s your body language like? ➡️ Do you make good decisions w/ & w/out the ball? ➡️ Are you engaged defensively? ➡️ What’s your IQ like? ➡️ Are you a good teammate?

"What will you do to make each other very good? People are going to come after you hard. You have to come after each other harder in practice." Good teammates push each other to become great players.

Jalen Brunson shares what separates great players from good players. "One thing that separates great players from good players is their detail. They detail the little things." "Those great players, they really take pride in just watching film, watching what they eat, and making sure they're in the best shape of their life - just to get that edge." Little details make big differences. The greats obsess over what others overlook. "A true believer is just being able to believe in yourself, being able to believe in the process - that what you're doing is the right thing for you." "I have the answers to the test. They're in my back pocket. I just need to be able to study them and know that I'm gonna do well on the test." Preparation is confidence. When you've done the work, you already have the answers and know what needs to be done. It means living the details, believing in the process, and trusting your preparation (🎥SLAM)

Ryan Conwell asked if he feels pressure to bring in ‘Shooting’ to this new look Heat team: “I don’t really feel too much added pressure. My biggest thing is just coming in and doing whatever the team needs me to do. Yes I do believe in my shooting ability and being able to bring that part to this team but I believe we’ll have a great amount of players that’ll be able to do a lot of different things on the floor. I’ll just come in and try to do what is needed.” (Via Miami HEAT)

26North’s Josh Harris has great advice for younger professionals: 1) Make sure you enjoy what you do 2) Make sure you still have fun during 18-30 3) You need to work hard, play hard - sometimes you can’t go out 4) Weigh big life decisions like it’s an investment

“It's feeling vs. choice. Are you going to do what you feel like doing or are you going to choose to do the things you need to do to accomplish the goals that you have?" Average players make an effort when they 'feel like it.' Great players choose to make a relentless effort.

Some quick thoughts on CMC being out in Week 2, the possibility of him going on IR and what to do if you have him but NOT Jordan Mason.

First rule of being a person on the internet. You'll never make everyone happy, so just do what you want and trust yourself to make the best decisions.

4 DAY SHOOTING RESET: Day 1 This 4 day reset aims to help players slow down and reinforce their shot. It’s really helpful for Great Shooters that love to be detailed, but also if you aren’t a great shooter to help you build your foundation. Day 1 is about finding our stance (load position) and feeling the sequencing of our shot. The Load Position is the foundation of our shot. A players understanding and feel for their stance is HUGE. Drill 1: Load Position Shooting - Find your stance and start in Load Position, take a breath, lift and shoot with normal pace. We look for straight lift and high follow through on this. Drill 2: 1 Foot Drops - this works on finding our base on the drop, and timing in to lift / shot. Drill 3: 1 Foot Drops w/ Dribble- Add in dribble to work on finding base, ball transfer to shooting hand, timing for shooting off the dribble. SCORING: ONLY COUNT CLEAN MAKES (Swish or hit rim once). For each drill, make 10 from 15’ and 10 from 3. Change Distance and Angle for each shot for variability.
