It’s the curbs fault. It clearly came out of nowhere.

To be fair, those things are poorly designed. If the intent is to prevent vehicles passing through, increase the height and make them more visible. They are easy to forget once you have returned to your car. Having it so low makes it difficult to see once seated. With an empty lot, one can be forgiven for simply pulling forward.
