Colorado: The Pueblo County Sheriff announced today in a press conference that 100+ structures have been lost due to the Aspen Acres Fire, but damage assessments are ongoing. A weather system of dry thunderstorms has moved over the fire area creating shifting erratic winds, and some lightning. The fire was last updated at 28,363 acres. This footage is from Colorado Springs Fire department during yesterday’s activity. The fire made an 8 mile run, fueled by abnormally strong winds.

From Pueblo county line, to Mackenzie Junction, to Fremont county to the North. For an idea of how far this fire has run, the original evacuation shelter was in Wetmore… People are NOT being allowed into the fire area. The plan to asses homes lost has been postponed today due to fire activity. This fire is likely well over 40,000 acres now. The National Guard has been ordered and they are sending two Nebraska Air National Guard Black Hawk helicopters and a National Guard Handcrew.
