This is how it's been every summer in the Pacific Northwest for the last several years. We've killed the planet.

The result of Canadian wild fires blowing south....Manhattan smells like a clove cigarette and is even worse to breath....

California commiserates (been there, done that, and will likely do so again, sadly).

So horrible to think of all those fires and the animals suffering from them!

Outside my office window this afternoon in Albany, NY.

The sun in Albany NY this morning

France is sending firefighters to Canada to help fight the huge forest fires they are experiencing. Global warming.

This is what Central NJ looks like…smells like a fireplace too

Same here in PA. I closed all windows n doors earlier. The smell was nauseating and it was really making my allergies go nuts

It’s awful in NYC. I mean we are used to funny smells but this is ridiculous. This planet is literally on fire.

Well. Welcome to what we live through in Northern CA. Been overwhelmed By smoke more times that I care to say. It’s awful. It has rained ash in my pool before. Wear an N95 outside. You don’t want to breathe that shit in. Trust me

It is called smoke... We deal with it every year in my area. I hate to tell you @JoJoFromJerz but you will survive to scam and lie another day

Finally. Elon Musk has transported an entire state to Mars. Wait wut?

Oh that's the worst. Here in Washington state we have had some horribly smokey summers. Hopefully it clears soon. A smoke filled summer is a jarring reminder of where we are at in this world climate wise. 😔

Central NJ sun tonight….

Could be a blessing in disguise if it hits DC hard so our politicians can start to experience it for themselves.

When I lived in So Cal in ‘74 that was the air quality. Helicopters would blare overhead “smog alert, curtail all outside activities”. I moved back to cold Wisconsin

We are just over the border from Northern NJ and it stinks! We had the red sky last night as well!

Notes from California. Mask up (N95 with vent is best for smoke), and get HEPA air purifiers for indoors. Try to keep your car dry, and if it gets wet, get it washed soonest, as the fine ash that settles is alkaline. EVERYTHING will get dusty. Red dawn and dusk look dystopian.

Looks like how movies portray Mexico

It's the fires in Canada, Smells terrible here in the Adirondacks. We just had some rain/hail. Hope they got some rain there too.

Sorry, being from Canada I'd like to say I have no idea how our entire country is on fire from coast to coast for the first time in my life. Been told climate change is a hoax so........

N95 time again.

We get this almost annually in PNW summers – alongside water restrictions taking effect around the same time (to protect the salmon runs specifically in my area).

Looks like CA in September/October. Stay inside, wear a mask if you have to go outside. Stay safe. This global warming is no joke.

Quick, let’s close down our entire economy while China a new coal fired power plane every three days. Makes as much sense.

So bad. People were calling emergency services all night thinking there was an actual fire near them and the fire dept kept going out to investigate since we're under the severe fire restrictions even though it was just the smoke from Canada.

I'm in northern NJ and it was cloudy all day. Went out for the mail at 3:30 and it was fine. Hubby put the trash out and came back, saying it was all yellow and smoky outside around 6. I've got to wear a mask-I'm allergic to wood smoke. 😣

Omg PA just went from normal to the 10th plague of Israel

Welcome to what it's like living out west during fire season. Utah had about 2 months of smoky skies a few summers ago.

This is Troy Michigan 3 minutes ago. One can smell the fires.

It’s a dangerous situation!
