40 years since that ‘last-ball six’ #OnThisDay in 1986, Javed Miandad smashed Chetan Sharma for a SIX off the final ball, with Pakistan needing four runs to win the Austral-Asia Cup in Sharjah. On the penultimate ball, Tauseef nudged the ball towards cover and ran. Azharuddin charged in, collected it, but missed the stumps from no more than four feet. Had he hit, India would have won, as it was the last wicket pair at the crease. Miandad remained unbeaten on 116 and was showered with numerous gifts for his match-winning knock.

I don't know what the landmark is here, but this just looks like a bad throw from Hurts. Smith is open to the sideline but has to spin around and track the ball over his inside shoulder. Hurt's deep ball was bad last week, and I discounted that due to the weather. But it wasn't on point in this game either. Even the deep catch Smith made later required a dramatic adjustment to the ball and a spectacular catch.

Before the catcher can throw down to first base to try and get the batter out, he tags the runner out from third who is trying to steal home. Inning over. But, who leads off next inning for the team batting? The next batter in the lineup or does the current batter come back up because he was never recorded as an out or safe? The same batter came back up to bat next inning and the umpire and coach from the opposing team didn’t say anything. Did they get it right?

Boytsov surpassed the previous record of approximately 10,060 metres, set by Polish parachutists, as during the jump, he spent two minutes and 30 seconds in free fall and reached a maximum speed of 501 km/h before opening his parachute at 1,565 metres. The temperature outside the balloon was around −59°C. The project took six months to prepare and involved about 100 engineers, pilots, parachutists and technical specialists.

So Emeka, at full speed, has to flip his hips and square up to the ball in mid-air. Should have been caught, but curious if Baker thought EE would feather his route a bit wider at the top or was it just a ball that sailed on him a bit?
