Mufti Saif al-'Asri on the fatwa by some Hanafis that allows interest (riba) based transactions in non-Muslim lands. People are using this opinion to claim that Muslims taking out interest-based mortgages is permissible. Question: Is it permissible to conduct interest (riba) based transactions in Western countries? Mufti Saif al-'Asri: This question is very important, especially if the intention of this Muslim, who lives in a Muslim country, is to introduce them to Islam and its way of life, and to be an exemplary person that people imitate. So, if when he comes to a non-Muslim country, he says: "There's an opinion that the Hanafis have which considers it permissible to conduct otherwise impermissible transactions in non-Muslim lands. So, it's permissible for me to sell pigs to them and it's permissible for me to engage in interest (riba) based transactions with them. Some Hanafis make the condition that he is the one receiving the interest and not giving it, meaning he's the one receiving the benefits (of the interest based transaction) and he's not benefiting the one he's conducting a transaction with, and so forth. This is an opinion, an opinion that exists. We can't wipe away this jurisprudential opinion. And it has its evidence. However, the vast majority of scholars, and it's even an opinion within the Hanafi school itself, are of the view that it is haram for a Muslim to conduct an impermissible transaction with a non-Muslim. It is not permissible for him (a Muslim) to conduct an interest based transaction with him (Non-Muslim), nor is it permissible to sell or buy alcohol from him, nor is it permissible to sell him pork, and so on and so forth. It allows you to proudly showcase the distinguishing features of Islam and take honor in the religion that you ascribe to. The way you speak? Your actions? How? How are people going to look at you? If they say: "Islam prohibits pork; however, masha'Allah, this Muslim at the store sells pork." Education and work visas are a money racket and just like IPAS is being abused by academia in Ireland. This young Amish guy on Theo Von’s podcast casually described “coffee soup” like it’s the most normal thing ever: hot milk, a splash of instant coffee, a bit of sugar, saltine crackers soaked in it… and then meat or fish on top. Some even add cottage cheese. Theo was as confused as the rest of us. If you didn’t grow up with it, it sounds wild, but every Amish person who did swears by it. Some cold hard truths regarding the cultural problems in the UK. 🔵It is believed that 70% Muslim women are unemployed vs 27% Christian women 🔵55% of British Pakistanis are married to some sort of relative 🔵Between 2007-2011 , 37% British Pakistani marriages in Bradford were to 1st cousins 🔵 Islamist terrorism is the most significant terrorist threat to the UK according to MI5 It shouldn’t be considered Islamophobic or racist to discuss these matters especially when it comes to babies. A child’s likelihood of having a birthing defect increases massively when they come from cousins. It is so unfair on the children & something must be done. We must not speak be afraid to speak about these issues. The lack of integration into British culture from some communities is destroying this country Thank you to Camilla Tominey at GB News for allowing me to speak about this

Anyone remember General Zod? One of the last games of the Bitmap Brothers and also one of their best, in my opinion. Z from 1996 was such a blast. Yes, I know, Command & Conquer was published a year earlier and was more complex (and turned into a massive franchise), but I always felt that Z deserved more credit and got a bit lost in the shuffle. Great graphics, an epic soundtrack, and some fun units (who doesn't love the Psychos?) were sadly still not enough, and despite some excellent reviews, sales numbers were pretty low. Earlier games from the Bitmap Brothers, such as Speedball 2 or Xenon 2, were commercially much more successful. Maybe it was the fact that the RTS genre was already quite saturated (Dune II, Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, Command & Conquer), and that pushed Z into the offside a bit, who knows. Did you play it back in the day and liked it?

Our beautiful old ragamuffin Lola peacefully went to sleep forever. It was her time 🐶🌈 Originally from Romania, Lola had been brought over to a UK rescue. Too feral to rehome she was kept on her own in a cold barn, living in the most squalid conditions. When her rescue was closing down we were asked to help. We can only be there for dogs like Lola thanks to our Golden Paw Club members whose £5 a month enables us to take dogs who need more care. Some would say dogs like Lola aren't worth saving, but it has been our privilege to make her last couple of years her very best. We have more supporters needing to pause their subscriptions than ever. Of course we understand, times are so hard. But if anyone were fortunate enough to be the position to pick up the baton and join today it would mean the world. Because together we can make such a difference 💜
