The cop is angry that he didn’t do the field sobriety test, because the field sobriety t st isn’t accurate at all and would allow the cop to be the judge and jury. He wanted to give him a dui without the breathalyzer and blood tests, because he was angry that the guy refused.

This is such bullshit 34 years ago. I was pulled over here in the state of Maryland because they had surveillance on a house that I stopped by to pick up my girlfriend at. They pulled me over and yes, I was under age at 18 and I think I had like a .04 blood alcohol content and they decided that that wasn’t enough so they brought him what they called a drug recognition expert and tried to tell me that I was under the influence of drugs when I can honestly say 110% I didn’t do drugs. It’s their way of getting a bigger charge on you because .04 just wasn’t enough for their whole sting they had on this house. I too offered to go to the hospital and do a blood test and a urine test and they refused even though I offered to pay for it after they said it wasn’t in their budget.

I imagine they towed and impounded his car and he’ll get billed for that. That’s why the “Policy Officer” asked him if he had anyone to give him a ride home. They should have just released his car, no charge, and let him drive himself.

Do not ever rely on an “expert” to decide if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Their interpretation is subjective. You want to go to the hospital and do blood and urine.
