Hacking a Polaroid printer with Codex: the printer didn't have a Mac app or any way to connect to a laptop, so I got Codex to reverse engineer the bluetooth connectivity and build a native swift app. We then also built a Codex skill to get it to print...

GPT Image 2 + Codex: or how to make Codex not suck at UI. Step 1: Generate a UI image (native in Codex) Step 2: Get Codex to implement the UI based on it Step 3: Get Codex to iterate until it aligns with the image as much as possible Codex is bad at initial UI, but very good at implementing a reference design, so this is your way out - iterate with the image model first and then Codex will do a good job.

You can pretty much reverse engineer any device in your home and build a mac app around it. Applied to lights, doors, ac and even the future robot helper. Here's the skill: It's crazy what you can build nowadays with a skill and a few prompts.

So this game is real now, fully built with GPT-5.5. I told Codex to use the imagegen skill to generate a reference UI and sprites, and used the Build macOS Apps plugin to build the app for a native retro fantasy labyrinth game! Adjusted the UI in a few prompts and here we are!

Today, we launched browser use inside Codex to further close the build & verify loop for local development! Now, you can ask Codex to build your front end, and test it like a user would by clicking through the app. Codex sees everything a user sees through vision & checks the network/console logs to help debug & fix any issues that it finds. This change brings us closer to fully autonomous coding agents that delivers high quality and tested changes. Watch Codex test my app in the browser, catch & fix a real bug, and doing that loop again with a brand new feature.

Wow very easy to create a Codex Site with a Convex DB that your agent can write to. You can make a todo list app that is hosted on Codex Sites, then tell Codex to make a skill that allows the agent to WRITE/EDIT to that todo list db. And then in any chat you can add to your list. Here's example.

You can now run MagicPath as a native canvas inside Codex to design and build functional apps. It's pretty incredible. Here's how to do it 👇

OpenAI took the best Coding model in the world GPT-5.3 Codex And turned it into a powerful coding app It's called Codex, but most people have no idea what you can build with it.

After creating Remodex: Codex remote control for iOS I decided to chill a bit by building a browser sidebar inside Theo - t3.gg 's T3 Code You can open it with Cmd+Shift+B This software is so easy to "manipulate" and build upon Congrats to all the guys that put the work in it because it is great I certainly will be building more things with it For this one I decided to switch from the Codex App to the Codex CLI too just to see how it works And boy it was so good

💥NEW: CODEX POWER USER GUIDE 3 rules that Codex power users follow to build better and get more done. Rule 1: The Verify Rule - Give Codex a way to verify its own work using browser use, computer use, and tests (and TDD). - Frame your prompts as a goal (outcome + constraints + when to finish) instead of a task. - Require Codex to gather evidence (test outputs, screenshots, exit codes) to prove success. Rule 2: The Context Rule - Onboard Codex like you would a new employee or teammate. - Use Plugins to connect Codex to the tools and systems you use for development and knowledge work. - Create your own Agent Skills to encode business processes and workflows + make them legible to Codex. - Login to SaaS tools via Codex's in-app browser. - Combine plugins, browser use and skills with Scheduled Tasks to put meaningful work on autopilot. Rule 3: The Orchestrator Rule - Let Codex prompt and manage itself (Codex is better at prompting Codex than me or you). - Give Codex an outcome and ask it to spin up one or more threads to achieve it. - Use ChatGPT Voice Mode to talk to Codex like a chief of staff, have it spin up new threads to do work and report back with results. - Ask Codex to use subagents for planning, implementation and review. Any Codex tips or best practices I missed that you'd add? Watch my full full video guide (with examples and demos):

Build an assistant that can store and search what it sees, hears, and is told, all without leaving the device. In Building AI Assistants with On-Device Memory, you'll build a local memory system that recalls text, voice, and images, and teach it to recognize something new from a few photos. Built in partnership with Qdrant and taught by Dylan Couzon, Developer Experience Engineer at Qdrant. This course also includes our new AI coding lab, so you can practice building with an AI coding agent from the mobile app. Enroll for free:

This is crazy, I can talk to OpenAI's realtime API, and it'll respond back with voice, and then help call Codex to help me code! Got curious about Codex and its realtime integration, and found codex's feature flag `realtime_conversation` integrated for the codex app-server. How it works: - launch codex app-server with realtime - connect a client to realtime through WebRTC voice connection - Codex app-server is also attached on the side - talk to realtime - realtime decides whether coding is needed, and responds back with events - Codex app-server takes these events and runs codex agent turns - codex writes code like your codex cli exp Keep in mind OpenAI hasn't released this officially, they're still actively working on it, I just created a fork. This is a completely new UX than the usual chat interface for agentic coding. For example, when the agent responds back in voice, it's actually faster for me to read the response, and I don't actually find voice response that useful unless it does so in the background. But image realtime working in the background, you can talk to it, realtime keeps track of the different agents working on your tasks and your status. More to come on demo side, i'll make a more polished version and include voice, but thought this was cool to share. You can see in the responses the distinction between my voice input, realtime response, and realtime calling Codex to do work!

💡 Friday Codex tip: If you are using the Codex app and regularly find yourself copy and pasting text from error messages or plans from other apps into Codex to start a new task, you can use Raycast deeplinks to map it to a hotkey.

I love when Codex outsmarts me! Asked Codex to hack this badge that I got from Temporal's conference by putting Codex pets on it. I also gave it a photo of the badge along with it. Codex found the actual firmware of the badge on GitHub to have a starter 😂

I’ve got Codex (voice) in CarPlay. And it’s fantastic. I can now build things during road trips, while all 5 kids make a noise and my wife asks why I talk to the AI more than I talk to her. It runs through my Nightblood iOS app, which gives ChatGPT Voice a face, personality and full access to Codex, my Mac and all the native tools.

You can literally build and host a website for free today. If you're already paying for a ChatGPT subscription, you have access to a world-class software engineer, called Codex. Combine that with Cloudflare, and you have superpowers. No coding or terminal required.

California just passed a gun law for your 3D printer. Not a gun. The printer. The law says consumer 3D printers sold in California need technology that can identify and block attempts to print firearms or illegal firearm parts. So your printer is supposed to look at a file and figure out if it is a gun part. A tube? A barrel? A random bracket? The printer has to know. And the technology to do that still depends on a standard that has not been written yet. But here is the part that tells you everything: Hollywood gets a carveout. Printers used exclusively to make props for the entertainment industry get a hall pass. So California does not trust the regular guy with a printer in his garage… but it trusts the town that makes billion-dollar movies about shooting people. And Newsom’s own press release says ghost guns recovered as crime guns are already down since 2021. So the problem is shrinking by their own numbers… and the fix is a mandate that may not show up until the end of the decade. Be honest: Is this about stopping criminals, or controlling everything around the gun?
