Rabbi Yitzi Hurwitz, a Los Angeles rabbi living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), shared a beautiful message thanking people for wrapping tefillin in his honor and expressing how much it means to him. What makes it even more moving is that Rabbi Yitzi is completely paralyzed and communicates using a special eye-tracking computer. A message like this can take him 10–15 minutes to write, one letter at a time, with only his eyes. The fact that he took the time and effort to write such heartfelt words is incredibly inspiring.

President Carter’s time on this earth is coming to an end according to his grandson Jason Carter. What a great man. At 99 he has accomplished so much. With an election coming up let’s remember all he has done for voting rights. Jason Carter: "My grandfather is doing okay. He has been in hospice, as you know, for almost a year and a half now, and he really is, I think, coming to the end. I’ve said before, there’s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him, and there’s a part of that faith journey that you only can live at the very end and I think he has been there in that space."

You know that the quarterback only has a certain amount of time to get the ball out. So I feel like they’ve been doing a great job so far of applying pressure and making life easier for us.”

A lot of our rescues are urgent, but this sweet little boy was in a league of his own. We found him with a severe neck injury from a piece of string that had been digging into him, but he was so incredibly terrified of humans that he actually escaped down a hole to hide. It took 36 long hours and the help of a kind local boy to finally bring him to safety, but we were never going to leave him behind. Today, that terrible pain has finally been lifted. He is still very nervous, but he is starting to slowly open his heart to our team a little more each day. The bravest little survivor is finally in safe hands.
