Spent the day sick in bed but decided to rewatch the 2023 Superstar Racing Experience season. I never had the chance to watch a full broadcast of a race as often as I’d like to but it’s fun to look back and compare between social content and the TV broadcast. One of my favorite moments were Ryan’s burnouts at Stafford in ‘22 and ‘23. Having the trust of the series to capture whatever it took to give a unique perspective was a pillar of the social strategy for SRX.

Building an Artificial Casting Engineer (ACE) "Building hardware at the speed of software" remains immensely challenging because the traditional software for engineering, and more specifically manufacturing (Solvers, CAM, etc,) is too damn slow. Starting a new project today, building an end to end system to forecast traffic of flights across cities (starting with Mumbai) The idea is to implement > ingestion service with kafka > data etl with polars > feast for feature store // mlflow for model registry > batch inferencing // dashboard > s3 // postgres for data storage All this orchestrated across multiple DAGs built with Airflow. yassss okay, Paper has a new homepage and guess what? it was entirely designed with early versions of our brand new desktop app and then built via MCP in code I'm actually scarily amazed 🥲 a project that a year ago would have taken me 4-6 weeks -maybe more- and a lot of pain was delivered in just 14 days, from wireframes to prod... agents are here babe I was also in charge of copy, illustrations, animations, and stress-testing an MCP workflow we're still figuring out ourselves but here's the thing, I wanted to prove to myself that you can't achieve a look and feel like this only by prompting lazy stuff into a chat box - there's still a lot to polish, but I can't imagine building this without a space to actually think and compose the canvas was KEY to validate ideas, clean up noise, iterate copy, and figure out a lot of things that take part in such a project so if you think you can vibecode something like this, good luck, see you -and your agents- later in a serious design tool :)

Diffusion models are an amazing tool for cofolding, they allow us to predict a protein and the molecule bound to it at once. But they are not exactly fast and require a lot of denoising steps to get accurate predictions. So we distilled ours. Meet DeCAF-Pearl: the first flow map model for all-atom cofolding. Instead of inching along the denoising trajectory, a flow map learns to jump across it. DeCAF-Pearl runs structure generation ~5x faster than Pearl, our SOTA model, while still maintaining the performance of the teacher model. That speed up allows us to run larger experiments and generate more synthetic data to improve our models. Getting there meant reparameterizing into noise-level space to stabilize gradients, committing to clean-structure prediction to keep the rigid-alignment loss biomolecules needed, and building DeCAF-Search, one steering algorithm for every compute budget. I gave it an image of a house and asked to create it in 3D with all the details including toys, appliances and furniture. This a full 3D model reconstruction in Blender with geometry that you can manually tweak and run 60fps as a locally rendered "game" on device.
