Mechanic may have called me a vagina and insinuated that sentiment analysis is irrelevant for what happens with BIP-110... but he's wrong. I shared this data not because I'm looking to spark controversy, but because there is a lot of Bitcoin at stake here and emotion can cause people to make poor decisions. This is only amplified when we all live inside of our own little algorithmic bubbles. Which is why this kind of analysis actually CAN give us clarity about what will happen on August 8th through a more human/social lens. TLDR for people that didn't read the piece is that BIP-110 supporters are broadly: 1) Getting angrier and more disapproving the further this debate rages on. 2) Talking with more hedging language, compared to those against BIP-110 who are growing more convicted. 3) Being fed higher rates of BIP-110 content by the algorithm, causing the debate to appear to have a larger mindshare then it actually does. 4) Getting LESS excited the closer we get to the activation date (which was probably the most unexpected and counterintuitive finding IMO). Again, I wish everyone the best as this debate rages on, but calling me names isn't going to stop me from sharing my findings ✌️

Should Strategy proactively sell Bitcoin now to protect shareholders later? Kaleo makes the case for selling, and gets pushback Kaleo: "Issuing MSTR is good here. If they were able to just unload a few billion dollars worth of Bitcoin and say the price didn't move way too much, we are being proactive. If they were able to sell that $1.25 billion of Bitcoin, that's bullish" "You're advocating for destroying shareholder value now to protect shareholder value in the future. Why would we be worried about Strategy being a forced seller if we're not worried about voluntarily selling now? That point I just don't get" Kaleo: "Where else is that 10 to 12 billion dollars coming from? They right now have talked about they are willing to sell the Bitcoin. If they sell some at a higher price, it eases a lot more of the concerns than if we get to 30k and we're in the same situation and they haven't sold any" "I can't get anyone to give me an answer on how much Bitcoin he can sell and why. You have no idea what would happen if he did that. What if he does it and Bitcoin goes to 30 and people are like we're done, he's out? E172: Michael Saylor: Why Hard Work Won't Make You Rich Michael Saylor is the chairman of Strategy - the world's largest corporate holder of Bitcoin with over 840,000 BTC and $65+ billion deployed. He bought his first Bitcoin in 2020 when the Fed cut rates to zero hasn't stopped since. With WSH, I always want to go much deeper than the current narrative and that’s exactly what we did here. We gradually moved past the surface and into the things that really shaped Michael. We talked about his childhood, growing up in a military family, buying domain names in the 1990s and flipping them for tens of millions, losing $6 billion of his net worth in a single day during the dot-com bubble, his great Apple bet in 2012, why working hard won't make you rich, why you should mortgage your house but probably not sell your kidney to buy BTC, why "THERE IS NO SECOND BEST", and a lot more.
