Hagia Sophia (Ἁγία Σοφία), or Ayasofya, which means “Holy Wisdom,” was the single most important and sacred temple of Eastern Orthodoxy for nearly 1,000 years. From its completion in 537 AD until the fall of Constantinople in 1453, Hagia Sophia was the cathedral of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople and the highest-ranking church in the Orthodox world. It was the home of the Mother or Magna Mater, the Great Mother of Wisdom, or the divine feminine part of God that creates the material universe. The Church is the bride of Christ, and through the divine marriage of the divine feminine and masculine energies you can reach God. People, especially Christians, do not understand this.
