It really looks like Trump leans and turned his head right as the shooting started. Otherwise what was likely one of the first few shots before people start reacting would have been right into the broadside of his head. If we think things are ugly already politically, it would pale in comparison to what we could have faced. There would be almost zero hope for unity of any kind for a long time .

@PBDsPodcast @patrickbetdavid @VincentOshana A few minutes ago, many hours after the shooting, an ABC News reporter uses a dubious tone when saying that Trump “claims” he was shot.

@PBDsPodcast @patrickbetdavid @VincentOshana If you watch the video closely, he turned his head just before the bullet hit. If he hadn't, or if the shooter had enough tactical sense to aim center mass instead of the head, this is lights out for Trump. NOTHING could be worse. It would guarantee civil war.
