Full suppression tactics are being used, including firing Ops to box the fire in, which also reduces exposure for resources in the steeps. A community meeting will be held tomorrow in Payson to update the local residents on the fire. It is suspected to be human caused and an investigation continues. Just got sick when I realized that there was a massive fire set early this morning (Jan 7th) in DTLA at Hope & Pico which occurred at approximately the SAME TIME as the Palisades fire. Strangely, this is directly adjacent to where another huge fire occurred the day after Christmas (1.5 weeks prior) at the famous Morrison Hotel. I imagine most people were too busy celebrating Christmas to even hear about it. This seems to be a problem with a decent amount of the relatively new Barrett Mk22 military multi-cal sniper rifles. What's happening? *in most cases* the user pulls the trigger but doesn't get a bang. Instead, the rifles fire when the bolt is manipulated. It seems to be a different than the issue with Remington 700s that fire on their own but it also seems like a easier problem to fix but I suppose time will tell... #MK22 #fail #military #sniper #Barrett

Two other victims were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. During operations, a stairwell collapsed, trapping two of our members. The Fire Department did an extraordinary job under difficult circumstances, putting this fire out and saving people. There was a victim trapped on the second floor, which our members removed with a portable ladder. As our engine companies were moving in from the first floor and up the stairs to the second floor, the stairs collapsed, and those two members were trapped in the stairs. With additional help, we were able to extricate those members. As all that is happening, other members are performing CPR on the victims in the street,” said Chief of Fire Operations Kevin Woods. The fire was placed under control just before 2:45 p.m. FDNY Fire Marshals are working to determine the cause of the fire.

Just lost ALL Autopilot, FSD, even basic cruise control and Tesla Technical Assistance says they can’t do anything and apparently my car needs to go to a service center for a software update even though there are no warnings on the car. I got an FSD strike and the whole system went down. They said they can’t turn FSD back on and forgive the strikes remotely even though they did just that in January 2025 for the California fires. When I drove from Nevada into California back then my 4 strikes disappeared. Even the Tesla Technical Assistance Supervisor (who was very nice) says they have no way to fix the car remotely and it must go to a service center. Unfortunately, now I need to drive over 1000 miles with no type of cruise control or driver assistance at all. There are no warning lights on or anything of the sort. We informed our client and gave him the update, it was indeed going to be a total and complete Overhaul and refurbishment but of course, we were up to it.
