I first met Saud Abdulhamid on my very first trip to Riyadh. Saudi Arabia. I had gone there to see Odion Ighalo, back when he was still playing for Al Hilal. That day, I was standing outside the training ground, just waiting, taking everything in. Then suddenly, a beautiful white G-Wagon pulled up. The windows were fully tinted, so you couldn’t see who was inside. For a moment, I was convinced it had to be Ighalo. As the window rolled down, I got ready to greet him—only to be met by Saud, flashing his trademark smile. He waved at me, and I waved back, even though, truthfully, I had no idea who he was at the time. Not long after, Ighalo arrived, and we headed into the training ground. That’s when I properly met Saud, along with his brother. We had a brief chat before training started, and that was the beginning. Our paths crossed again when Saudi Arabia played Nigeria in a friendly match in Portugal. After the game, in the middle of the crowd, I heard someone shout, “Ighalo!”—it was Saud. From there, we stayed connected, following each other online, keeping in touch in our own way. Then came another reunion, this time in Lens, inside his small but tastefully furnished apartment in the heart of the city. Back then, things were still uncertain for him. He wasn’t playing regularly, but I remember him telling me clearly that he wanted to stay in Europe, stay with Lens, and fight for his place. There was a quiet determination about him. I wasn’t going to post this as a reel... but there are a few pieces of the story I hadn’t shared and I think they are important for my UES community and fellow NYers to know. FIRST. I wasn’t on my phone when it happened. I wasn’t distracted. It wasn’t an unsafe hour. I even made note of the guy when I saw him, but it wasn’t until I saw a strange flick in his hand (you can see in the footage) that I realized something wasn’t right. SECOND. The police took apprx 30 min to arrive and once they did, even after showing the video with the guy shouting threats, acted like it wasn’t a big deal. I remember saying, “So since I’m not bleeding, a punch to the head is ok?!” THIRD. When I refused to back down and only after I told them I had a headache… They agreed to go to the address the man shouted in the video and MADE ME GO WITH THEM, despite having video footage clearly identifying him. I can’t describe how terrifying that was. Maybe they were hoping I’d refuse and give up? FINALLY. The cops did NOT get the security footage, WE did. The cops walked into the nail salon when I pointed out the camera, but said only the owner had access to the footage. Michael, my husband, went back later and the salon happily put him in touch with the owner who immediately found the footage and sent it to him. It took five minutes. I am so grateful it wasn’t worse. I’m grateful it was me and not someone who couldn’t take the hit or the fall. I’m hopeful the man gets the help and services he clearly needs. And I’m heartbroken and furious that this is how it is—so much apathy. Stay safe and stay aware. And if it happens to you, don’t let anyone convince you to let it go. I even made note of the guy when I saw him, but it wasn’t until I saw a strange flick in his hand (you can see in the footage) that I realized something wasn’t right. SECOND. The police took apprx 30 min to arrive and once they did, even after showing the video with the guy shouting threats, acted like it wasn’t a big deal. I remember saying, “So since I’m not bleeding, a punch to the head is ok?!” THIRD. When I refused to back down and only after I told them I had a headache… They agreed to go to the address the man shouted in the video and MADE ME GO WITH THEM, despite having video footage clearly identifying him. I can’t describe how terrifying that was. Maybe they were hoping I’d refuse and give up? FINALLY. The cops did NOT get the security footage, WE did. The cops walked into the nail salon when I pointed out the camera, but said only the owner had access to the footage. Michael, my husband, went back later and the salon happily put him in touch with the owner who immediately found the footage and sent it to him. It took five minutes. I am so grateful it wasn’t worse. I’m grateful it was me and not someone who couldn’t take the hit or the fall. I’m hopeful the man gets the help and services he clearly needs. And I’m heartbroken and furious that this is how it is—so much apathy. Stay safe and stay aware. And if it happens to you, don’t let anyone convince you to let it go. Wayne County employees and Affiliates are bullying me. Big Corporations and City Officials, I AM the community.” It was signed, Linda. I also got a call from Paul, a firefighter, last week. He wanted help looking into the connections between a string of arsons and city officials. I got another call from Ray, a guy who once helped me identify the victim of a serial killer. He had a convoluted tip about corruption in Detroit. I get dozens of contacts like this every week from every corner of the state. People who have been victimized by the very government they voted for. I try to help them. But I’ve got my hands full. I’m going through thousands of pages of nursing home Covid documents. The state of Michigan charged me thousands of dollars to get them. The best I can make out, Gov. Whitmer’s nursing home response was a deadly fraud. It cries out for an official investigation. But Attorney General Dana Nessel refuses to conduct one. Why? Whitmer, during that time, hopped on a businessman’s jet plane and took a trip to Palm Beach. When caught, she claimed her campaign fund paid for it. If true, that would be illegal. Again, no investigation. At the same time, Nessel took a luxurious vacation with her wife to Turks and Caicos, which was paid for by a prominent law firm with business before the state. Again, no investigation. Here’s where it gets sick. It was the Republican leadership in Lansing that made Whitmer’s nursing home investigation go away. It was a “go along to get along” arrangement. Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey was able to avoid felony charges for campaign finance fraud. In the meantime, Shirkey’s money-raising minions were charged. One faces 14 years in prison. The Republican House Speaker at the time, Lee Chatfield, avoided his own corruption charges until he was out of office. It was only then that Chat the Brat was ratted out by his brother and sister-in-law. He stands accused of using campaign funds for jets, hotel rooms, prostitutes, and drugs. Nessel’s wife was caught up in a similar campaign finance scheme as Shirkey. The root of money in both cases came from DTE’s nonprofit. Meanwhile, our energy bills continue to skyrocket. Documents show that Nessel colluded with Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson—who had issued a criminal referral to Nessel regarding a ballot committee connected to Nessel’s wife. Nessel asked Benson to make it go away. Nessel’s wife, nor anyone connected to her, has never been charged. Benson has not been investigated for that, nor for violating numerous election laws, nor for accepting thousands of donations that appear to have been made from straw donors using stolen identities of elderly people. Benson’s husband, Ryan Friedrichs, was investigated for destroying evidence that showed that his then-boss, Mayor Mike Duggan, was funneling public money into a nonprofit run by Duggan’s mistress. Nessel looked casually into that. Nothing came of it. Friedrichs, now a lobbyist, stands to make millions of dollars from a data center that local residents clearly don’t want. Duggan and current Detroit Mayor Mary Sheffield are trying to cover up their roles in the mass dirt poisoning in the city of Detroit. Sheffield was sleeping with the accused demolition contractor and even voted to give Lover Boy millions more in work while they were canoodling. When confronted with these facts, Sheffield lied to the public. They’ll probably get away with it, though. Just as Republican Gov. Rick Snyder and his syndicate got away with the mass water poisoning of Flint. No one did a day in jail for that debacle. You can thank the incompetent and insidious Dana Nessel. Again. And you can thank Nessel for interfering in a criminal investigation into her drinking buddy, Tracy Kornak, the former treasurer of the state Democratic Party. Kornak was accused of ripping off a brain-damaged elderly woman four years ago. Nessel made that case go away. Whitmer, also a wine pal, was going to make Kornak a judge. That is until a local prosecutor opened his own abuse case. Kornak now faces four felony charges and 15 years in prison. Nessel was subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee, which was looking into Nessel’s handling of both cases against her wife and Kornak. When Nessel refused to produce documents, the committee hit her with contempt charges. But Republican House Speaker Matt Hall sits on his hands, refusing to bring it to a vote because it doesn’t seem to fit his political calculus. To hell with accountability. 40 Years Ago Today 26th of March 1958 - 15th of May 1986 🇮🇹 Elio de Angelis - 28 years of age ⚠️ Information about the fatal accident Elio de Angelis was a prominent Italian Formula One driver known for his elegance, musical talent, and technical skill. Often called the "last gentleman player" of F1, he was highly respected by his peers for his polite demeanor and fair racing style. Racing Career (1979–1986) De Angelis competed in 108 Grands Prix, primarily for Lotus, where he achieved his greatest successes. Death and Circumstances De Angelis died following a testing accident on May 14, 1986, at the Paul Ricard Circuit in France. The Accident During a test session, the rear wing of his Brabham BT55 detached at approximately 270 km/h. The loss of downforce caused the car to cartwheel over a barrier and land upside down, where it caught fire. This being a test day, nobody witnessed the whole incident, although two Benetton mechanics manning a speed trap caught the final stages. The car became airborne and then flipped into a series of rolls that pitched it over the guardrail, before it eventually came to rest inverted. The survival cell was intact, but the rollhoop and the fuel tank had been damaged as the car bounced over the barrier, and fuel was leaking out. De Angelis himself had suffered only a broken collarbone. Initially there was only some smoke. Back in 2014, Murphy is on the Senate floor, he's giving speeches, he's writing resolutions, and he's telling every Republican in Washington... don't you dare undermine these Iran negotiations. Don't do it. He said if Congress shows it doesn't take the talks seriously, it'll destroy our credibility with allies, scare off our negotiating partners, give Russia and China an excuse to walk, and leave us with nothing but a military option. His words. Not anyone else's. His words. And by the way, Trump rebuilt the military, made it the strongest, the most powerful, the most technologically advanced fighting force the world has ever seen... nobody's even close... so the military option isn't quite the disaster it would've been under the previous administration, but that's a separate story. So what happens? Trump gets back into office, and he starts serious indirect talks with Iran. April 2025. Oman-mediated. Very tough, very sophisticated negotiations. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut... and you have to hear about this guy because it's one of the most incredible, most brazen, most dishonest examples of hypocrisy you'll ever see in American politics. Maybe ever. And there's a lot of competition, believe me. Back in 2014, Murphy is on the Senate floor, he's giving speeches, he's writing resolutions, and he's telling every Republican in Washington... don't you dare undermine these Iran negotiations. Don't do it. He said if Congress shows it doesn't take the talks seriously, it'll destroy our credibility with allies, scare off our negotiating partners, give Russia and China an excuse to walk, and leave us with nothing but a military option. His words. Not anyone else's. His words. And by the way, Trump rebuilt the military, made it the strongest, the most powerful, the most technologically advanced fighting force the world has ever seen... nobody's even close... so the military option isn't quite the disaster it would've been under the previous administration, but that's a separate story. So what happens? Trump gets back into office, and he starts serious indirect talks with Iran. April 2025. Oman-mediated. Very tough, very sophisticated negotiations. Steve Witkoff, incredible guy, working the back channels. Trump gave them a real deadline... sixty days... because he doesn't do endless process. He does deals. Zero enrichment, ship out the uranium, dismantle the key sites, open the doors to inspectors. Clear demands. Generous terms, frankly, very generous, because he didn't have to offer them anything. He could've just hit them. But Trump wanted to give diplomacy a chance because that's what a strong leader does. And what does Murphy do? The same Chris Murphy who said you must not undermine negotiations while they're happening? He goes on television. He goes to Iran International, which the Iranians are watching, and he calls Trump a liar. Says he has no idea what Trump is trying to achieve. Says most of what Trump says isn't real. He pushes war powers resolutions to tie the President's hands. He's out there broadcasting American division to the entire world... to Iran, to our allies, to everybody... while the United States is sitting at the table trying to close a deal that could've avoided all of this. A SLAVE TO YOU. 2001 was her peak. It is easy and safe to say “Glad it was not me” and “I would have done it differently”. I see. Fame and Fortune is like dancing with a very large poisons snake and they always win. I have had, in a parallel former life, the chance to work with the very famous on their way up. The first thing I say is: “What goes up, will go down. Your career, your money (maybe) and your brain (most definitely) and just about every friendship”. This will happen to every single complex and all too human, human, some just do a good just a good job hiding it. No one is prepared for wealth and fame. Oh we all talk a big game, but no one is prepared. And the wealth and fame are a guarantee that when you fall, you fall hard. Oh you have the money to protect your fall but because of it your mind falls further than one could think is possible. You are so alone. Your parents, your grand parents, your siblings, your kids they all become part of what I call “The Elvis Syndrome”. To everything your constellation of folks around you say “Yes Elvis, that’s a real good idea”, to everything. See they assume, even if they don’t say it, that you must be a “genius” because they didn’t do what you did and they don’t have the money and fame. They assign genius to you and lesser to themselves. They dare not speak up. They prefer “Yes Elvis, have another fried peanut butter and bacon sandwich. You are not getting fat”. Long ago your burning starlight chased away any true friends, because even if they were strong to say truth, you believed your own public persona like everyone around you. You can not listen, you are the genius they have some job someplace. You also have just two options to anyone around you: 1) Your “crew” 2) People you pay And ironically they merge in to one and the same. All see your public persona and all see you as a means to get paid. Oh you go to “parties” with other rich and famous people but they are one of the above ultimately. Hierarchy forms around you and they naturally form a protection barrier. You have tantrums as fame rips you apart and you desperately try to become your public persona. Each layer you build to protect your all too human center moves you into more and more isolation. Shielded from real and needed pressures of life you are in your beautiful and well stocked velvet prison. You are now just a vehicle for moving money efficiently and surrounded by people that live off this largess. At the peak you may have advisors and they may seem to help. But they dare not tell you what they see even if they could see it. And most can’t see it because no one is prepared for it so they don’t have any better insight. This spans the enter ensemble of people that are now your satellites from gurus to lawyers, from plastic surgery doctors and fitness trainers. So what now? What if your dreams to “make it big”? Abundance does not fix a broken soul. And we all have this. Trauma is a great fuel, it will absolutely get you to orbit and you will shine, but trauma in orbit is the breaks that break you and when gravity wins, and it always does, you have no idea how to navigate going down. Trauma is what I have seen build everyone from Elvis to Steve Jobs. Trauma unresolved took them out. I am not saying your dreams are invalid and should not be your goal, I am saying that you don’t get a pass. No one does. And with fame and fortune it is nearly impossible to address it, because your ego can’t fit in a zip code. As you prepare for you fortune, and if you are reading this, you will have one, prepare your mind. Deal with the dark places that drive you. Make peace with the past, the people that did you wrong and mostly with yourself. But in this bargain you will remove some fuel for your rocket. It is the bargain. But it is the better path. We all will dance with the snake. But hopefully will know it. And you may have fame. Just don’t become a: “Slave to you”.

🔴JK🌟Was LIVE | 6.28.26 | 4 hours As one of the lucky ones who was able to watch JK’s four-hour live last night, I wanted to share what I took away from it. Fair warning: this is a long one… but he did give us four hours of content. 😅 Read if you’d like! First, and most importantly, Jungkook wants us to see him for who he is: a responsible adult who is capable of making his own decisions. He wants people to stop questioning every choice he makes, every word he says, and every aspect of how he lives his life. He is happy. He told us himself, “I’m so good.” He takes his health and well-being seriously, and he knows what works for him. He works hard, and like many adults, enjoys winding down sometimes with good food, alcohol, or both. He’s naturally nocturnal and thrives on the schedule that suits him. He doesn’t need unsolicited advice about how he should sleep or live. After the show, he went out to eat with the members, before returning to his hotel to film the dance challenge, which took over 50 takes. It was another reminder of how much pride he takes in his work. He always wants to show us, and himself, the very best he can do. Right now, he’s immersed in dance. He’s studying locking, krumping, and other house styles because he genuinely wants to become an even better dancer. He wants keep sharing dance challenges with us, because that’s one of the ways he can give us something new right now. He said he doesn’t actually listen to music that often, unless it is connected to a dance video, but when he does, he’s been enjoying a lot of music from his fellow idols, especially girl groups. He even shared a few songs he’s been playing on repeat lately. He’s also been enjoying anime, talking about several series he’s been watching and how excited he is for the next season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. He spoke honestly about learning English. He has a teacher, and he wants to improve, but it’s difficult and he simply doesn’t have enough time to devote to it. At the same time, he made it clear, again, that he doesn’t want people constantly asking or telling him to speak English. As he has said so many times: “I don’t speak English. I’m Korean.” If you choose to watch his lives, stop asking for it! One of the most candid moments was hearing him talk about big brand events. He admitted that they make him uncomfortable, saying Taehyung loves them and is much better at them. Small talk doesn’t come naturally to him, and he gets shy with all the eye contact. But, like the professional he is, he has learned how to do it well, because it’s part of his job, and because he genuinely appreciates the brands he works with, speaking warmly once again about his Calvin Klein collaboration. And then there’s what has always been part of Jungkook’s core: singing. He simply loves to sing. He loves exploring his voice, learning new techniques, experimenting with different genres, and constantly improving. He watches YouTube vocal tutorials to keep growing. Karaoke isn’t just fun for him, it’s practice, exploration, and another way to become a better artist. Listening to him sing throughout the live was a gift. Beautiful, playful, effortless, and unmistakably Jungkook. His performance of “Into the Sun” was my personal highlight, with perfectly placed vocal runs, delicate high notes, and emotion woven into every line. This is only a small part of what Jungkook shared with us over those four hours. I’m incredibly grateful that he gave us so much of his time, his thoughts, his laughter, and his music. My biggest takeaway is this: if you choose to log into his lives, then let him live. Keep your cringy comments to yourself. He doesn’t want to see them, and neither do we. Listen to what he’s actually telling you, trust him to know what’s best for himself, and simply enjoy the rare privilege of spending time with him. Thank you, Jungkook. We love you. 💜

I’ve been meaning to share here that I bought land! Growing up I vividly remember going to the welfare office with my mom. Public school, free lunches & section 8 housing made life possible. I wanted more for myself so I studied, worked my ass off, and put myself in the way of getting lucky. I pivoted into tech in my late 20’s, and was already a mom of 2 at that point. It was not an immediate up and to the right journey. In fact, my first startup failed. And it was entirely bootstrapped so I lost all the money I’d put into it. After working at other companies for some years I was ready to try again but then I nearly failed at fundraising. It was humbling to hear no after no but I just kept learning and adapting. I have always played long games and I’m willing to take a lot of pain in the short-term to realize big goals. People who know my full life story say it’s so hard to believe that I am in this position today, but it’s not by accident. I built this life brick by brick. Odds were stacked against me but I found joy in the challenge of doing hard things. Much of my success is from being pushed down and told I couldn’t make it. I love proving people wrong. Back to the land. I started dreaming of this project over a decade ago, back when I had no money to do it. But I talked about it to friends constantly like it was inevitable - because even though I didn’t know *how* it would happen, I began believing it would. Here we are and now it’s a key piece of what I want to accomplish in my next act. I want to create a place that people come to for reflection, to unwind from the grind, and to build meaningful connection to self and others. I want to host salons to discuss and debate interesting topics with the smartest people I can find. Breakthroughs will happen round a fire, while lounging poolside, and while gazing up at the stars through the trees. It took a year of searching for land but we found a spot just 1 hour north of San Francisco. It’s got some beautiful bones and infrastructure on it already but there’s a lot to imagine and build to realize the dream. Everything big starts small. So, we put up our first tree swings, hammocks and a canvas tent. 🏕️ If you’re into that kind of journey then I’ll be posting more about it on IG and may create an account just for that work. I’ve never owned land so 10 acres is an amazing canvas to create and learn on. There will be mistakes and setbacks, There always are. But I can’t wait to see what gets accomplished in the next decade! (And no, I am not quitting my job at Meta - this project is my side gig for the foreseeable future. I’m lucky to have the best guy I know focused on it full-time.) As the corporate truism goes - team work makes the dream work. LFG! 💕
