Sea Levels Not Surging Despite Years Of Climate Activists And Corporate Media Freaking Out, Study Finds | Audrey Streb, Daily Caller News Foundation One recent study compiling sea level rise data shows oceans are not surging as much as the scientific world previously projected and corporate media has repeatedly sounded the alarm over. The Journal of Marine Science and Engineering published the peer-reviewed study on Aug. 27, authored by Dutch engineering consultant Hessel G. Voortman and independent researcher Rob De Vos. The study concluded that the average rate of sea level rise in 2020 was well below other widely cited analyses, and that when projections were compared with local data, there was little evidence climate change was driving the acceleration seen in a few regions — a finding energy policy experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation challenges mainstream climate change orthodoxy. “Overall, this study indicates that in most places, sea levels are not rising unusually quickly. In the relatively few locations where sea levels are rising faster than average, the cause is almost certainly local factors such as land subsidence or ground compaction,” Sterling Burnett, director of the Arthur B. Robinson Center on Climate and Environmental Policy at The Heartland Institute, told the DCNF. “Global sea levels are currently rising more slowly than they have for much of the time since the last ice age ended — a period during which seas rose more than 400 feet. Any possible increase in the recent rate of rise compared with the past century is small, within the margin of error, and not outside historical patterns.” Though the report doesn’t account for sea level rise everywhere, Voortman told journalist Michael Shellenberger on Tuesday that he was surprised no one had compiled such a study before, noting it is the first to compare projections with recorded local data from the past century. The two data sets the researchers drew from did have some gaps, which meant that most sections in the world with usable data were in the Northern Hemisphere, with several of the “selected stations” spanning North America, Europe and Japan. Gaps in the data included regions around Australia, the northeast of Latin America, East Asia and most of Africa. “The average rate of sea level rise in 2020 is (only) around 1.5 mm/year (15 cm per century)” Voortman said Tuesday. “This is significantly lower than the 3 to 4 mm/year often reported by climate scientists in scientific literature and the media.” The report notes that in the data sets the researchers used, “approximately 95% of the suitable locations show no statistically significant acceleration of the rate of sea level rise,” and that regions that did see a spike in sea level likely “local, non-climatic phenomena are a plausible cause of the accelerated sea level rise observed at the remaining 5% of the suitable locations.” “It is crazy that it had not been done. … I started doing this research in 2021 by doing the literature review. ‘Who has done the comparison of the projections with the observations?’ And there were none,” Voortman said Tuesday. “I had to do a lot of programming and automate data imports and data management. I organized it by using databases so that I really knew what I was doing. It was very structured because I was dealing with 150,000 locations and, on average, 100 years of data. That made one and a half million lines of data. I found myself for days working on things that I felt, ‘This is more computer science than civil engineering.'” Steve Milloy, senior fellow at the Energy & Environment Legal Institute, told the DCNF that “there are a lot of additional factors that can affect tide gauge measurements including geological changes, groundwater withdrawal, and land use. Big Mac passed yesterday. Decided not much point sitting around. There’s dogs to save… Saving street dogs is my mission but to do that takes a lot of money and a lot of awareness. I wanted to do something to really push things to another level… 🏃‍♂️ I will run a marathon on the 15th November. I have only started training today with 30 days to go. 🏙️ The race is in Bangkok at night. The most I have even run Iy life is 20km 🥘 I have been eating really badly lately and am very unfit. I’m going to share the journey over the next 30 days in what could be one of the stupidest ideas I’ve ever had. I have 3 main reasons to do it… 1. I was to raise awareness for Happy Doggo as a charity. (A follow there helps) 2. I want to try raise money for a mobile sterilizing unit with 10 staff and 2 trucks treating 5000 dogs a year. More on that soon. 3. My mental health hasn’t been amazing lately with so many losses so I wanted a good physical challenge to clear my head. I expect people to say it’s impossible and try talk me out of it like the team here all have! The chances are I’ll probably fail but life is short and I’ve a lot of dogs to help. This is day 21 of our Xinjiang RV roadtrip and we're now driving the long road between Aksu and Kashgar, alongside the Taklamakan desert and what is probably one China's greatest engineering accomplishments of the past few decades, if not in its entire history. This is strangely not well-known but, starting in 1978, China launched an insanely ambitious project to completely surround this desert - which is larger than the entire country of Italy - with a "Great Green Wall" made of millions of trees and farm fields, stretching over 3,046 km. The whole project was completed in November 2024 so it took a crazy 46 years, older than I am! Why do so? Because the Taklamakan is the world's second-largest moving sand desert and the fastest moving one, known to literally swallow entire kingdoms and cities: the ancient Silk Road kingdom of Loulan vanished under its sands centuries ago, and in modern times the town of Cele (策勒) on its southern edge had to relocate three times as the dunes kept burying it. It also protects the very highway on which we're presently driving: without the "Great Green Wall" this road would be buried under sand every other day - and just couldn't exist as a result. As we're witnessing, it's very real and super impressive: we've been driving for 3 hours now and the wall of green alongside us hasn't stopped for a single kilometer. It has been sad the level of attacks and attempts to be-little what ProffittHarsad Community and dev Team had built and had to endure in order to contribute a solution and a product for everyone. We do use Jupiter quote APIs and Jupiter on-chain Routers. Right now they are the ONLY Transmission/Engines available on chain for us to build the Experience for our users while we build in the coming (weeks) our Engine and own Transmission. Lamborghini is not bad cause it used other manufacturers parts while learning how to build the best for their needs. Red Bull Is not a CAR manufacturer, so you can still add value on top of Engine/Transmissions. Its called "PURPOSE & GOALS" We love Jupiter - We do integrate a lot of their amazing open-source APIs in order to make our aggregation experience smooth. We do not iFRAME Jupiter Front End or Websites. There is no shame on this and its intended for the construction of new products and solutions. We also love @heliuslabs as they serve our RPC calls and demands. We also love Amazon Web Services for providing us the Cloud service we need. We also love Solana for the amazing blockchain we all can use. We also love Tensor ⚡️ cause they were one of my inspirations on making the choice to give it a try and Lead this attempt. We love Uniswap 1inch PancakeSwap For showing the WORLD we all could swap in freedom and peace. We are currently building our Front End/Backend Experience, using our servers, our RPCs, our own code to make this happen. We charge a Fee as intended in our ethos for the experience and service we provide. We will continue to improve the experience tailored for our Community and users. We are not interested in Feuds or Comparative battles based on ill intentions. The next stage for is integrate our own Router and wrapper, not cause Jupiter has bad code or solutions, just because we would love to be independent and build our own journey. I have been an avid user of Jupiter for almost 3 years, traded over 8 M USD across all my accounts. Nothing but respects for what they've achieved.
