@insomniacgames expecting better from a $70 game is completely fair. I’ve got criticisms of it myself 😂 My issue is with people blowing every flaw out of proportion and attacking anyone who enjoys the game. Criticism and jumping on a hate train are two very different things.

You’re arguing with someone who literally agrees it could’ve been implemented better 😂 I’m not saying the blue trail is perfect. I’m saying the reaction to it has been blown way out of proportion, and if it wasn’t in the game at all, I guarantee people would still find a way to complain about it not being in the game. @insomniacgames all they gotta do is tie it to a sniff button on R3 instead of the waypoint hint button. then have the waypoint hint as an option to also appear for people who want it.

@insomniacgames Yeah, this is basically the solution 😂 Tie the scent to R3 so you actively use Logan’s senses, then keep the waypoint hint as an accessibility/optional setting for anyone who wants it. Best of both worlds.

@insomniacgames Why are you so dumb? 🤦🏻‍♂️Most players didn't complain about the mechanic itself, but about the fact that it's permanently active for most of the game and holds your hand way too much. If it was an optional button press from the beginning, no one would be mad about this.

Or did you miss that part? 😂 tracking ability’s like this has been in plenty of other games too, including Origins, where it was a toggle for Wolverine . I’ve already agreed it could’ve been implemented better here. My point is about people blowing it way out of proportion, not defending the mechanic.

@insomniacgames It is more then possible to make it good enough if not perfect, the best way they could’ve done it is making it a mechanic you can toggle on and off using one of the joysticks or some other button, it would also make the player feel like they are actually using Logan’s scent

@insomniacgames I don’t think anyone complained about the sniffing itself. Just the linearity of it and how badly it visually looked. I saw they already patched it to look much more subtle and just simply better

@insomniacgames Yeah, I agree the implementation could’ve been better. I’m glad they’ve made it more subtle with the patch, but I still think making it optional like a toggle would’ve been a good move.

@insomniacgames 100%. i think guidelines like that are great for accessibility but shouldnt be something that a game relies on too heavily by nature. you should ideally guide a player through level design and not a line that completely eliminates organic progression through a level.

@insomniacgames Well that patched it to make it look much better already. There were about 100 different ways to put in a scent trail or powers without making it look so god damned goofy and immersion breaking.
